(spoiler) underdark - drow city final - everybody is enemy now

Post by johnnybravo1 »

i have delayed too much at the mind-flayers lair, and upon returning to drow city everybody attacks me.
is it possible to find the dragon egg and leave underdark or should i re-start chapter 5?

I'd try it out. If the city gates are closed you have to kill everyone to get out.
If you can't open the door to the eggs you have to kill Adalon to get out of the underdark. You'll miss many XP but you'll gain some items from her.
I hope you have bought the useful items from the city merchants.

If you restart chapter5 then clear one of the three lairs before entering the drow city, this way you already have finished the quest when you get it.

You can still complete Adalon's quest - fight your way to the temple... kill the matron mother (that unlocks the gates to the city if they are closed) - doesn't sound like that's necessary though, so just steal the real dragon's eggs and fight your way back out of the city. Give the dragon her eggs, and kiss the Underdark a dreary farewell...

If all that fails, another way you could take is to kill Adalaon. However, if you choose that way, be prepared for a a fight. (I'm assuming your characters are SoA leveled, not imported from ToB.) Winning this fight will give you an ingredient for some very nice leather armor as well good XP (Hey, you did just kill a dragon.) But by killing Adalon you do have to make your way up to the surface alone, which should get you some bonus experience.

I said something one time that made the whole Drow city come down on me heavy. It was a blast killing all those stupid dark elves, I cackled with glee the whole time! I hate drow... My half orc went berserk, Minsc went berserk and the slaughter was on :D ... I love berserk killing sprees......

You do know that you can do that even after completing all the quests, and depending on how stuck up your PC is, a good character could easily consider themselves obligated to rid the world of such a presence.

Yeah well, I didn't intentionally set them off. They didn't like one of my responses and boom, everyone went red. And the fight was on...

If that happens I tend to do one thing - say 'Bring it on!' then kill everyone in sight - certainly helps when I plan to fill the boots of Bhaal.

The whole city is gonna turn on you eventually anyway so you might as well destroy the whole drow city whenever the opportunity comes (did you still meet up with Jarlaxle this way? Or free the slaves...good xp)

I had a weird experience the other day loosely related to this...Phaere was about to ask me if I'd do the egg-switch and if I was true to her, I replied I was, and she said "nope, you're lying" and suddenly I had the whole city on my tail and had to get the eggs the 'manual way' ;)

LOL I love getting totally unexpected answers when you thought you knew what was coming. Love it. Goes to show that the game CAN change a little each time you play it.

I always clear everything up before I go into the Drow City. I never thought of wiping out the Drow before leaving. I`ll try that next.
