entering cheats?
Sorry if I sound annoying, but my last thread was closed so I couldn´t post another question. So I now know there´s no cheat console in KotOR, but I found a long list of cheats and a friend of mine once said he cheated at the game. So how are cheats entered? I read that I first have to press "Shift + ^", and then enter the cheat and press "Enter". But it doesn´t work for me. Could it be because I have a German keyboard and the game is in English? Which other keys might work instead? Could somebody please help me with this? Thanks in advance!
P.S. please don´t close down the thread immediately should the question be wrong again, and if threads about cheating are not allowed please tell me so.

There are no cheats as such in the game, though there are a few bugs you can milk to get some things: that's all. (I suggest you check up on GameFAQs for a description of these, since I can't link them. GameFAQs only allows links to its front page.) So there's no place to enter codes.

well GameFaQs isn`t the only web site for that. The one I visit all the time has almost every game for almost every system, gamewinners has alot
but don`t go there if you don`t want the game ruined for you.
fable, what do you mean by there are no such cheats in the game? I read somewhere about the "invulnarability" cheat and would like to play once without being killed. How can I activate this?
If somebody has mentioned an invulnerability cheat, ask them how to use it, because nobody here or on the KotoR official boards knows about it, or has used it. At best, I think they were mistaken, and possible confusing KotoR with another game. At worst, I think they were pulling your leg.

Weeeeell, there are cheats, and then there are cheats. Certainly the KSE (search that) can be used.
You can use a console, but you have to edit a file. I don't know which one exactly. In game you CANNOT see the console, even when it is enabled.
Try searching on the KotOR 2 forum as well... Don't repost this thread though...

GregtheSleeper, if you know of any cheats that *can* work with KotoR, please post how to do it, and what cheats they are. Every thread we've had, here, on the subject has affirmed there are no cheats in the game. The official boards state there aren't any, and GameFAQ lists no way to enable or find cheats. So we'd very much like to hear about them, and make them available to players. This is the perfect place to post about them.

Fable, I HAVE posted about the KSE (KotOR Savegame editor) before. Link to the thread here. Link to KSE here. The KSE allows you to add/remove experience/force powers/feats/skills/attributes/items OUTSIDE of the game
I have used the console in KotOR 2 (and perhaps KotOR although I am not sure) and mods can be found on the internet that make it easier to cheat in-game. If you search the KotOR 2 forum, there are some lnkis to mod sites, and I remember seeing a few 'wrist console' (i.e. an armband that you can use to spawn items/experience) type things...
I would post links to those, but I'm not on my gaming PC - it's broken, and they aren't on the laptop.
EDIT - decides to search for mod sites... Here is a link from the lucasforums. Is that ok, or does it break the 'links to other forums rule'?

I think it's appropriate, and helpful.
So to summarize, if I understand you correctly, there aren't any cheats in KotoR, but there are some editors that let you cheat outside the game, changing various parameters that make your character stronger, give them powers, etc. And there is a console for cheats in KotoR 2.

The KSE allows you to edit stuff outside the game. However there are plugins that allow you to do this in-game.

Cheat mode:
Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "swkotor.ini" file in the game folder. Scroll to the "GAME OPTIONS" section and add the following line:
EnableCheats=1
Save the file and start the game. Press ~ during game play to display the console window then enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function. Press [Tab] to list all console commands.
