That is a conclusion worthy of a prize. You may have to invent the prize yourself, though
The technology between the first three and last three movies was more than 500 years advancement. This wasn't a literal timeline, but was more a dig that what Lucas thought up in the 70's as the "later" movies didn't even compare with what, in the movies, were supposed to be historical vehicles.
If I've misread your post, I apologise, but there was 13 years between Episodes I and III in the SW universe, 19 years between Episodes III and IV, and 4 years between episodes IV and VI.

So that makes 36 years between Episodes I and VI.

My post wasn't supposed to be a real value in years. It was more a comment that the ships in the last three episodes (the ones made in the 70's) were all clunky and dull looking. The ones in the first three episodes (recently made) all the ships were cool and snazzy looking.

But according to the chronology of the movies, the snazzy looking ships came first, then for some reason all the ships started looking like crap.

It was whimsical and not meant to be taken literally.

Well, it's not that the technology is worse, it's that time has taken it's toll on things, and the Rebel Alliance can't really afford to equip itself with lots of top-notch gear.

But the Federation has built itself a new planet destoryer (two actually) and it's still flying around in the same Star Destroyers? Bah!

And I don't really see much resistance fighting in here this morning. What's up with that?

The Empire's Star Destroyers do change over time. If you notice, the ships they use in Episode II are different from ships in Episode III, and the ones in II are probably only a third or even fourth the size of the ones in Episodes IV-VI. Besides which, you have to take into account not only Lucas' imagination in the 70s and currently as well as the technology available in the 70s and the technology available now. If Lucas redoes the original trilogy--which I've been dreading since Episode III came out--the "newer" ships will probably be a lot sleaker.

Actually, what's kind of funny is that in the books, the Star Destroyers don't change much, even after 15 years. Some authors created updated versions of the same ships, like the Imperial Star Destroyer Mark II and the Victory Star Destroyer Mark II, but they're basically the same ships just a little stronger. In the comic books (I will never call them "graphic novels" except in jest), there were newer classes of ships, but I only read one of those and don't even like to consider them part of the official fandom timeline.

Nano,

If the word filter didn't catch it then it is allowed on the site. If they don't want the word they need to filter it.

That doesn't count for abbreviations, misspelling, using ! instead of i and so forth, but if you fully spell a word correctly and the filter leaves it alone then you're fine.

Unless you're doing something else naughty like being rude, hateful, etc.

So how about them multi-class fighter/mages?

There is a lot of talk toward the design of starwars, it was said that back then they didnt have the technology to do these episodes. Also it is said that there is a reason why the begining episodes have better technology, and the last episodes dont. Considering it was the future it should have better technology but this is not the case, due to the Galactic Empire raging war on everyone. Due to this the rebel forces were scattered and so was their ability to create almost anything. Though I wouldnt take anything less than an X-wing ;) ....also non of the first episodes had ships with Ion cannons the later ones do...especially the Y-wing....yeah go bombers  .....as far as the Empire side, AT-AT walker...nuff said...biggest and badest thing out there.
Wondering how vampires live the life they live.....

But where was Jar-Jar in the later episodes?

And it was one off-hand remark. No need to get all religious on the subject. People can joke about Star Wars you know. :p

Now where's all this rebel spamming we've heard so much about?
