You have to wait until the swirling thing appears when one of the bad guys comes through the portal then kill them and pick up a gem/crystal they drop. You need to collect these as you have to use them to step through the portals (each use of a portal uses up a gem). You can also only step through the portals when the swirling thing appears.

So now I'm in "Portal Hell".

What is this Item I'm looking for that will allow me to go through the "Electric Ladyland" doors.

Everytime you kill one of the shadow mages/priests etc. they will drop a shadow gem. Pick up the gem and you can use a portal once. You need a gem for everytime you go through a portal.

OK,l I got that. So now I went through the portals about twice each looking for this Item. As it turns out, I didn't have to go through that Electric door anyway.I had this portable Door that led to the last Sphere.

I have killed everything in that room and now I'm in ( after going through a large platform with nasty woman and some floating warriors.) Did them all in and then entered the pink door and now on a Platform of about 20 rooms and doors with the ones on the far ends that go to another level below.

Looking for the Madusa. How do I not turn to stone again ???

Don't worry about being turned to stone. In raising Undrentide into the air, she had to give up some of her powers, most notably the turn to stone gaze :)

Once she is dead, you can then use that character to start HOTU as it continues the story :)

Having a tough time with those Frog things ( skeleton Devourers ? ). They pop up endlessly ?. They are warring me down. On that platform there are four doors from what I see, each having some lever to pull. I have been to three of them. The last one has a dozen doors to go through.
I would think, if you kill them in an Area you should be done with them.

How do you use the Acid bottles or spray stuff ?. I have tried using it and nothing happens.

To use the sprays on a weapon, open your inventory and drag it onto the weapon you have equipped. To throw flasks or use sprays in battle, just put them in your quickslots, click on them then click on an enemy.

As for the skeleton devourers, once you kill them they do not respawn. Just kill them at each door, pull the lever and when you get to the last door just pull the lever and walk through it.

If you spray the acid spray or the fire spray on your melee weapon, it temporarily gives it acid/fire damage (for a few attacks). Its not really worth it though as the effect doesn't last for long. Its better, in my opinion anyway, to just use them like bombs/grenades :)

Mr. Sir

I have done the sequence of levers and was talking to the Medusa. She is surrounded by the Myrthal (?). My weapon has no effect on her. What is used on her to kill her ?.
Do you have to destroy the pillars ( Myrthals ) that surround her ?

Just ignore her or let your henchman deal with her for now. You need to destroy all of the crystals first. Until then she is invulnerable. The easiest way to do this is with area effect spells/wands such as fireball but they are pretty easy to destroy by melee. Once they are destroyed, heal up if necessary then just hit her as hard and as fast as you can and she will die in no time at all. Don't worry if your henchman dies as it won't affect the end of the game if she does :)

In trouble now

No, I do not think I can do that. I'm a Ranger. Even though I'm half Elf I have limited magic Skills. I can not use a wand. My henchmen is a Mage. Isn't there a weapon that I can use ?.

Any melee weapon or bow will do. Just target the crystals and hit them and they will shatter.

Mr. Sir

Well, you did it again. Thanks I got that one done. You were so right about her focusing on the Henchmen and not me. I also noticed that I broke about four of the Crystals and then they started to Blow up by them selves ?.
Made short order of her.

You were also right ( or someone else brought this up ) that it ends and you end up in the Hordes with nothing,, just money. But I have over 300,000.00 so I can buy what ever I need. In this game you can have Two Henchmen ( maybe more ?) So with me I have
a Bear ( Louie ), Deekin and Daelar Red Tiger

I'm now at the some entrance where I have to insert the green Bar and a Red Bar in sequence. What is it code?

In HOTU, the max number of henchman is 2. Deekin is the best henchman in the game in my opinion as his interaction with other henchman is hilarious. He's also pretty good at staying alive :) In HOTU you also now have a lot more control over your henchman. You can give them and your animals more orders etc. than you could in the OC and SOU. Just talk to them to set up what you want them to do.

Which door do you mean? Are you on the 1st level of the Undermountain? There are a few secret doors in that area as well as areas to the north and south. There are loads of things to do, but basically your main aim to progress the story is to get to the next level. There are two ways to do this. One is to either side with or fight the ogre mage or the fairy queen in the areas north and south, then use a powder keg you will find to blow open an entrance in the ogre mage area. The other is to collect all the different colour rods and use them to get past the blockade. Basically, you put the colour rod in a lever and pull it. The rod corresponds to the pillars in the blockade and each lever represents a row in the blockade. You have to keep swapping the colours around and pulling the levers until all the pillars have disappeared.

The first level of Undermountain is very maze like and is quite hard to explain as there really is a lot of stuff to do. I'd suggest having a look at the following pages on gamebanshee: (I will still do what I can to help, but these will probably be able to explain stuff better than I can)

http://www.gamebanshee.com/neverwintern ... entral.php
http://www.gamebanshee.com/neverwintern ... enorth.php
http://www.gamebanshee.com/neverwintern ... esouth.php

Also, remember you now have a device in your inventory that lets you set up to 6 teleport points so you can travel fast between them. Just activate it and tell it if you want to make a telepoint point there or not or to travel between the points.

Sir

Hi again

I pretty much did most of that. I broke and took all the stuff from the Mirrors and defeated the "Evil Me".

Found two of the Secret doors and killed the mage's and what ever else was in there. One room I remember is basically one huge trap that I cannot dismantle. There is a mage or traps in there that keep zapping you as you try to negotiate the path into the room. I left that one alone for now.

I sent SHARWYN back to the Inn ( she was not as good as Deekin )
But I did resurrect Red Tiger because of how much he can carry and he is a brute with the double AX. I did give him some equipment ( shield , mace, etc. )

There are a few of those yellow Portals. should I take them ?. Do I go to another level or stay on that floor ?.

Thanks for the posts on the NWN board. That did come in handy.

I'll be back when I have done this floor or run into trouble.

Thanks
