I cant kensai/mage!

Post by Kimmuriel »

I cant seem to dual class to mage from my kensai, the character is as follows

Human Kensai

14 str
17 dex
17 con
18 int
14 wis
3 cha

So what could the problem be? I am postive that those stats meet the req. to go to mage!

I appreciate any help given

What level is your character?

he's level 9, i was told to do it at 9 in the guideline here at gamebanshee. I just lvled up to 10, wasnt sure if dualling could be done at any time or if it was somewhat like NWN where you only can at lvl up since I've never dualled in BG before.

As I recall, you need at least 15 in the lead attribute of your current profession, and at least 17 in the lead attribute of the one you're switching to. You've got intelligence covered for your mage, but don't you need 15 in strength for your kensai to dual?

I read that i would need 13 str, Im gonna see what happens if i change str in shadowkeeper.

Edit: Yes, seems i needed 15. The kensai mage guide should be changed then, although the writer did include that his kensai had 15 str, it said you needed 13 though.

Well thanks for helping me figure this out fable.

My pleasure. There are a number of errors in the manual that accompanied the game. Fortunately, we've got good information in the database, here. And some of us have been playing it for what seems like, well, generations. ;)

I think he meant the Kensai/Mage soloing under strategy guides, the guide said at least 13 strength.

Yup, the guide - and the game itself - is actually very accurate when it comes to how-to-dualclass. :)
