Still unable to loot

Post by TrunkMonkey »

I have tried without the patches and with. I used both Patch 2 and 3. I even tried the Co8 patch. But nothing seems to work. I click on the dead body and nothing happens. It will highlight but nothing happens. What's strange is that I can still loot in the tutorial.

I jumped around on these forums but didn't see anything that applied specifically to this. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Sounds like the patches didn't get applied properly or something.

Try uninstalling the game, then reinstalling it (using the default drive path, as sometimes changing this causes the atari patches not to work).

But you should probably use temple.zip or the co8 patch (which includes temple.zip) instead of patch 3. Definitely don't use those on top of patch 3, because they're not coded for it, and because it does NOTHING that these other patches don't do better.

Thanks for the response LP. I just figured out what the problem was. I had lost my disks during a move (cliche but true) and just downloaded a no CD crack for it so I didn't have to buy it again just for the disks. The crack was overwriting the needed files. Luckily after some phone calls I was able to find a used version at an EB for $10. Works fine now. And thanks for the tip about the Co8 patch, it definitley looks cool.

As moderator, I am obligated to note the following:

No-CD cracks, while not illegal per se, become illegal the instant you no longer retain possession of the game discs. This includes loaning them out or losing them. Gamebanshee discourages talk of them entirely, as they lead quickly to piracy, and any further discussion of them will be deleted.

That said, I'm glad you got things working. Rock on!
