Please help me *possible spoiler*

Post by Maximus38 »

I am a vampire, and there seems to be no cure. I have arrived back at the witch's house after collecting all the ingredients, but the door shows red and she attacks me when I come in. No amount of Charm spells make any difference to her behaviour. Is this a bug, or is there something I have missed?
If bug it is, is there a cheat to get rid of Vampirism?

During my whole cure for vampirism her door showed red to me, as well as just before I started it. What this means is (besides being bad design or a outright bug) that I have limited time before she will attack. Hence, each time I needed to see her I made sure to be as quick as superhumanly possible before leaving the shack.
Solution 1:
- If possible, reload before you enter her shack the first time. Talk to her and leave.
- Get ALL things you need
- Go back and complete the quest.

Solution 2:
- Try finding info on the quest ID and use the console to set it.

Can you really cure it at alters? Is it a particular alter, or do you need a really high fame/low infamy level etc.. ?

Haven't we seen this question before?

It appears that the original thread may have lost track here, however...
Yes, you can get cured at the alters in the city chapels around the country (not in the Imperial City) so long as you're not Infamous and the vampirism hasn't progressed.
This has all been over answered by previous threads.

Gobatcha that's true, but I think a little nitpicky...I haven't seen all the previous threads, and they are trying to help so please cut a little slack here!

Thanks for your help guys, what I did was to break in and rush over to the bed where she was sleeping and activate her before she woke up - it took a few tries but in the end I got her to talk. Needless to say she attacked me again once I'd given her all the ingredients, and told me what to do next, but at least I have a way around it now! Thanks again....this vampire quest line is VERY bugged and should be sorted asp!

PS I also found a cheat code to cure vampirism should the whole thing become too much of a pain, I hope I don't use it but if I do I'll try it out and post the cheat code if it works!

Can anyone just post what I have to do next after the Grand Soul Gems have been delivered? I have been trying for months to find the Gems, but I can't so can someone just tell me the next step?

Thanks a lot! ;)

Has this thread been hijacked?

I don't think the quest continues until you deliver the gems. The other things you'll have to find are (highlight):
bloodgrass
nightshade
garlic
blood of an argonian
ash of the ancient vampire

There may be something else and I can't remember how many of certain ingredients you have to find.
Some of the required soul gems can be found in the witch's basement.
If you don't mind using the console then I think you can find the empty grand soul gems here (highlight):

Good luck.
