I just don't like the idea of guns, it will ruin the mystic effect of fable. I think it's too easy to just 1hit kill every1 with a gun. When there are 20 people with guns shooting at you, i really don't think you still have the time to watch the beautiful landscapes etc....

Well, they could make it like headshots are instant kills. As for shooting some other part of the body, it would take multiple shots (not too many, of course).

Now this will sound very much off-topic but what about using the cover and fire method used in quite a number of FPSes and 3rd person shooters? It might at least give some protection against a volley of bullets. They could also use a lean feature commonly used in a number of FPSes like FEAR and Call of Duty 2 for example where you can hide behind a wall and lean to either left or right so that your whole body may not be exposed.
<Removed inappropriate statement>
EDIT: Removed an insulting statement. My apologies if I have offended you, TLC.
P.S. What's wrong with me these days? I really had better be careful about what I type in the near future.

Des, I realise that you are just joking, but the forum rules clearly state that:
#1 - Flaming, humiliating, ridiculing, or belittling other members will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with another member, take it to private messages or email.
Some people may enjoy the general atmosphere of the game, and the scenery and surroundings more than the fights themselves. RPGs cater for lots of tastes, not just those that like the combat. TLC has a valid point - if you are constantly under attack from loads of enemies with guns it would make it very easy to die so you would have to focus primarily on just getting past them alive.

That's okay.
Anyway, about guns, I had to bring up the question as to how you reload your gun and how fast will it be. In my opinion, I had a slight concern that the reload time for a gun at that period will be quite long considering its construction at that time. Maybe they could make guns reload just like that of a hunting rifle. I know that those type of rifles might have existed back at that time and they're called breech loaders.
EDIT: Okay, I think I got this wrong. Breech loaders during the 18th century don't reload like that of a modern hunting rifle. I went to look it up at Wikipedia and it told a different story. My apologies for my misleading information.

I agree with what you said, MandalorianX, but there must be some way to reload the gun as fast as reloading a bow in Fable: TLC. Otherwise it might be kind of tedious to use a gun if the reload speed is slow.

yeah well you use a little time to get some power in the attack of the bow...the gun can fire at once you have reloaded.
vell it would be cool if you had a bag(free) of pouder(dont know how to spell the word hope you under stand it) that you use to the gun and the putt a bulit in the gun...just my idea for reloading

I wouldnt comment on guns in Fable 2 before I have seen it and all but if I have to I think its a nice innovation IF its balanced and since its old class guns and follows the timeline, its ok. Though I wouldnt mind bows and crossbows coming back in the game, bows is just as great weapon. And even have longer range than powder guns

I think that's the method for reloading a gun back in those days where you put in some gunpowder at the top of the gun's barrel and then the bullet is inserted into the barrel afterwards. Later, you have to push the bullet all the way to the bottom end of the barrel with some long iron rod and you're ready to fire after that.

Erm, logically speaking, aren't guns supposed to have longer range than a bow and arrow? I wonder if iron sights exists back then?
EDIT: Correcting typing mistakes. Just one question. Where is everyone? Feels kind of lonely here.

.....but i think the bow and crossbow will still be in the game(well i hope so)....cuz i think a gun at that time should be expensive.DesR85 wrote: Erm, logically speaking, aren't guns supposed to have longer range than a bow and arrow? I wonder if iron sights exists back then?

I thought they would have been phased out by that time. Maybe you could start out with flintlock pistols at the beginning of the game. Later when you progress further in the game, you can afford to get different types of flintlock rifles/muskets (breech-loading, regular, muzzle-loading).Mandalorianx wrote:.....but i think the bow and crossbow will still be in the game(well i hope so)....cuz i think a gun at that time should be expensive.

Fable with guns?
Fable with gunz would be kinda boring you might as well go play a gun game not a mid evil times kinda sorta thing. cause you every notice that in fable they dont have eletrcity or anything like ummm tehcnical and machineish Plus the fact that there way behind guns era. And all those sword swinging and bow shooting lovers yourweapons would become apsolete cause eneys dont apear 3 feeet away so if they have a gun boom the shoot you and you die and if you think you can knock an arrow before somone can pull a trigger well then call 1 800 im lighting speeed fast so if you think about whwat i said vice versa you have gun they got sword then it'd ruin the challange in the game and you'd get bored i love guns but the thing is it'd ruin all the mystacly challangy fun dont be angry of my post cause your all like i luve gunz hoora i do to but it'd ruin the game by like 50%

I have removed several posts in this thread. As a reminder to everyone, this thread is to discuss guns in Fable 2 so lets keep it on topic.
dark123x, please can you use the edit button to alter posts and add things to a post rather than make repeated back to back posts. Further, if the post you are about to make does not add anything of value to the topic of the thread or is off-topic, please refrain from posting it in that particular thread. If you wish to discuss dragons then it would be more appropriate to start a new thread discussing possible monsters etc. in Fable 2.
DarkOmen14, please stay on topic (which in this case is the existence of guns in Fable 2). If a subject is not covered in any other thread then please can you start a new thread if you wish to discuss it.
Thanks.

also i think that guns will be underpowered as they are in all games with guns and sword (devil may cry). this will ruin it as anyone with half a brain knows that a guy with a sword wouldnt stand a chance against a guy with a gun providing the gunman is more than 6 feet away.
i think that swords will be just as goods and this will ruin any realisticness (if thats a word) in the combat of the game

---I Didnt Do It---
The developers could use the same mechanic implemented in the bow and arrow of Fable: TLC like headshots is an instant kill. Shooting at any part of the body may take more than one shot to bring the enemy down. And if the enemy employ the cover and fire method, it will provide some sort of challenge but I think I might have strayed off-topic here.:laugh:ashes2233 wrote:also i think that guns will be underpowered as they are in all games with guns and sword (devil may cry). this will ruin it as anyone with half a brain knows that a guy with a sword wouldnt stand a chance against a guy with a gun providing the gunman is more than 6 feet away.
Well, they (the developers) could find a way to balance out both the guns and swords used in the game. After all, not all enemies will use firearms and some will just charge straight at you, forcing you to use your sword when they get into striking distance.ashes2233 wrote: i think that swords will be just as goods and this will ruin any realisticness (if thats a word) in the combat of the game
