Granted, you go back in time and meet John, Tim, and Cindy Lou, the three Red Necks who were out hunting one day in the empty space, they shot a propane tank, and that was the big boom, all the rest is in the anals and records and histories of the world, mostly complied in the Smithsonian.

My first, instantaneous way of showing the "bad side" of that was a bit too far, but this should be better... Granted. You and your SO become inseparable, where moments of time apart stretch on like centuries of agony. You become addicted to your SO like a drug; your dependence on him is so intoxicating that you find yourself deliriously happy with him and depressed and lonely and craving him when without. You can't get anything done with the distraction of his absence hovering over you, and you can't do anything except lie in bliss whilst in his presence.

Hrm. That wasn't too bad, I hope. Let's see, a wish for me... Uh, I wish I could go to Europe in the two weeks I have left before start of the semester.

It teeters and crashes to the ground. You are whisked away to spend your summer in a French jail, are held for several months. Due to your absence you are dismissed from school with a 0.0 GPA.

Wish granted. As a consequence, to make up for your long and lonely years during which you were deprived of cats, you begin to show up at the animal shelter on a repeated basis. Before you know it, you have 20 plus felines crawling over your furniture, the floor, your desk... Your place begins to stink due to a lack of adequate litter boxes, and you start going broke trying to feed all of the cats. Eventually a neighbour complains and you are hauled away to the nearest institution...

Ooh, that's just worse than harsh. LOL. Luckily, I don't like cats so much as dogs, and despite the allergies, my parents have always had dogs. So not much animal deprevation going on there.

Wish granted. Everywhere you turn couples are wandering about arm in arm and constantly murmuring endearments to one another. The entire world begins to resemble an exceptionally syrupy Disney movie or soap opera, and you start feeling the urge to heave your cookies whenever you venture outside. Even worse.. at the macro level, the world grinds to a complete halt because everyone is too in love to worry about anything else!

I wish I didn't get a splitting headache every time I get stressed..

Granted. The governments of the world decide that it will be better to launch part of the earth into orbit, rather than try to build a biosphere from scratch. Ohio is the chosen pioneer. Granted. Every bit of music you have ever wanted is on your computer, but due to the amount of data that's contained on your hard drive, you don't have enough room for an OS or music player, and the music is cleverly encrypted so you cannot access the data remotely.
