Could you provide a little more information? Why did Jan leave you? What did he say before he left? Was there a red circle around him?

I were picking the locks on some of the boxes with him and then suddenly he left party, no red circle, he's just standing there.

Had his quest come up? Had you ignored attending to it by any chance?

Did you have the latest patch to the game?

Is he petrified? I believe there's a trap in the chest, he's petrified and you need a scroll of stone to flesh to bring him back.
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.

My thoughts exactly. Statues just stand there and they won't talk to you. :)

you say he left the party and is standing there. Where is he standing? If hes in the same room as you Im going for the petrified theory. But if hes actually left the party, Im thinking along the missed quest theory.Has he been saying much? If so, whats he been talking about?

I've been away for some days, thanks for all the answers.

He haven't spoken alot to me, just about turnips, I think it's an kind of flower.

Petrified? He has been turned to stone? I only thought you could be turned into stone if you used that stoneskin thingy, and only mages can do that and you can still move if you use that, so you can turn others into stone? I didn't know traps can cast spells, I think thats strange.

Flesh to stone spell, ok, I wonder If they got one of those in any of the stores in that place.

Found I spell in market, then the winged elf helped me to turn him back into him again, he's back into party again :) . Will I be looking more care fully for traps now on so it not happens again. Thanks for help! :)

Sorry for spelling misstakes, my main language is not english.

Get a stone to flesh green scroll from any cleric, that'll do the trick.

moral of the story is friend, always check for traps before you go opening things. There are some particularly nasty traps throughout the game. Some are deadly. By the way, a turnip is a kind of vegetable, not many people like them, which is why Jans obsession with them is so amusing. Dont worry about your english either, you will find everyone here patient and helpful (unlike the game you are playing) :)
