Gaurds are always persuing me?(spoiler)

I cant fast travel, or rest or wait. I have beeten all the guilds and main quest. I recently killed a lot of imperial city gaurds while wearing the Gray fox mask. Once I got in the clear I took off the mask and have no current Bounty. I have cleared 2 caves trying to loose the gaurds and rode my horse to two different citys! when I see a guard they do nothing to me. Does any one know how to get ride of the gaurds?

I've had the exact same problem (the "Guards are chasing you" message/problem).

I fixed it by intentionally getting arrested. Just go up to a guard and hit him, or alternately steal something. Just pay the guard, and then it should fix itself. I hope...

I once had a bounty I didn't know about, but my char was so well-loved that when I spoke to a guard he said "Ma'am, you're in big trouble! But don't worry - I'll pay the fine for you!"
I have no idea how much the bounty was for. I didn't even know I'd done anything wrong.

So... what I'm saying is: boost your Personality & Speechcraft and get a cracking good reputation!

I once commited some crime and got the guards after me. I ran to the closest doyen and paid my fines. After that I could not fast travel or rest. So, I simply waited til the "pursuing" gard showed up and told me to have a nice day before he walked off. After that I could once again rest and fast travel. I'm guessing that removing the mask might put you in the same situation.
So, see if you can get out of pursuit mode by talking to any guard or just waiting til whomever is in pursuit shows up. Else, perform a criminal act and then go see the closest guard.

a lot more.
If it helps i killed the guards following me with the gray fox mask and then took it off.

Yeah my character is one of cyrodiils hardest gangsters.
I kill people for saying things like "get lost" "foul creature" "So tiresome" when I walk past them. bahaha
