kangaxx the lich quest

hey guys

could somebody tell me if there is a way to get to the lich in the cult of the unseeing eye area after you have completed the unseeing eye quest (killing Gaal - who is supposed to give you the key - on the way), i need to get the golden arms and legs but i cant find a way to do it now, is there anything i can do?

correct me if Im wrong, but Im pretty sure that, after you've killed the unseeing eye, the stairway out of the lower reaches leads straight into the room where the lich is.

It doesn't matter if the Unseeing Eye quest is done or not the lich's tomb is still inside that room and should be available.
