hey chus cousin here. i recently bought oblivion for pc. i installed it but when i go to run it says oblivion has encountered an error and needs to shut down. i do not believe that the problem is my my computer because we bought it no too long before the game came out and it was the best comp you could buy at the the time.

What are the basic specs on your computer? The CPU speed, your amount of memory, your video card, your Windows type?

1 gig of memory, windows xp, not sure on the video card or cpu speed but its good enough to run world of warcraft and dungeon seige 2

There are incompatibilities between Oblivion and some cards. I suggest you check Bethsoft's tech forums for details, to see if yours qualifies. After finding out what it is, of course. ;)

As for CPU, I don't really see that as something that could cause this problem. It might cause problems within the game, in terms of loading time, primarily.

If worse comes to worse, I would uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling, and trying again.
