Do You Recomend Becoming A Vampire?
I know it has it's ups and downs but are the ups better then the down and worth doing. I've been thinking of becoming a vampire but I hear the people won't talk to you anymore. And some of you skills will decrease. But then I hear the you get abilities such and night eye allowing my character to see in the dark. So if I could get some opinions that would be nice, thanx.
no
no,
Blacki dont recommand it, when in a 100% stage of vamp no1 will talk to you, you almost get instantly killed when walking in the daylight, and the Night-eye thing (i think!!!) isnt permanent but a power, so it can be used once a day. i might be wrong on this. indeed you get more str and speed, and agi drops down by 2, its still not worth it.. the daylight dmg and the no1 will talk stuff are just sooooo crappy, one last thing: you get a weaknes to fire aswell (havent experianced it et, but my CS says you get it
im not sure of the whole stuff when you bite people, what will happen to them.. die, or also get infected.. mabey they just stay normal.

I spent three days as a vampire. I'm so glad to see the sunshine again!!
No, I don't recommend it on the long run this early in the game. Maybe later on because there are some very cool abilities that the vampires have.

Ive been playing almost totally as a vampire; i got infected and never took it off; if you just feed like you should, and if you have a healing spell you can use then walking around in the daylight is easy; and if you have a charm spell, people will still talk to you even thou your this "foul beast" and everything else they can think of to call you
I've turned into a vampire and didn't even know it. I was looking at some of my abilities and I saw night-eye. I thought it was a normal thing but when I looked at my character face up close for the first time I thought he looked different. So then I saw the one of my greater powers is vampirism. I fought about 3 vampires but I didn't know is was infected...oh well. So can it be cures at any time no matter how much of a vampire you are? cuz if so I might roll with it for a bit.

I cured myself of vampirism and found the only thing I missed was the hunter's sight ability; a combo of night-eye and detect life. Other than that it was nice not having to travel only by night to get past the "You cannot fast travel when taking damage" message I got from stepping into the sun. Or hanging around in cities waiting for people to sleep so I could feed on them.
Plus, on a shallow note, my character's avatar was ugly! .
It was alright to experience as part of the game but not something I'd keep forever.

I've been a Vamp for nearly 30 days now! and i think that it is great! you are much stronger! and the basic night eye can be used as much as you want with almost no magick drain!
But the others are right once you become a fully fledged vamp - which is when you most benefit for the increased stats - going out in the sun is almost impossible, even if you are using major healing spells. And you can spend lot of time in caves/houses resting
However if you play it smart and feed regularly then sunlight isn't a problem.

Well I started my first character as an imperial knight.....joined the fighters guild and wasnt making any money......so i started to hire my sword out to the darkbrotherhood. I accepted the dark gift from vincenti and have been a creature of the nite ever sence. It's pretty gangster, iam thick strong and fast and very agile. The only thing for me is now that iam doing the assassin quest's iam improving on my lesser skills so i havent leveled up in while(stuck at level 3)But the vampirism is quite fun exspecialy when you do not feed for a while and your real deadly. The sun damage is huge tho.....but who needs the sun when you are a child of the nite?

I recommend being a vampire but I wonder on some things:
1: Why did my pale imperial, get a tanned skin when he became a vampire, shouldnt he be even paler?
2: Im not sure on this, but I recall going to a new stage of vampirism just by waiting, why?? It will make long quest with f.example waiting on a person (take the unfriendly competition quest when you have to wait outside agramirs house) waaay longer and difficult.
3: Why dont I heal by feeding on NPC's? Can I heal myself in a later stage?

To try and answer your questions:
1. I think the tanned look is meant to be an ageing effect; certainly as the disease advances your skin becomes more wrinkled and bloodshot
2. Vampirism advances if you don't feed on human blood - if you leave it unchecked you will be a 100% Vampire, and you will not even be able to step outside without taking major damage. There ARE some advantages, but check previous posts or go to this site Oblivion:Oblivion - UESPWiki which has a comprehensive coverage of everything including vampirism.
3. To heal yourself you have to go on a quest - it's a long and difficult one, often bugged, and a right pain in the arse, but at the end you will be cured.
Again, try that site I posted for you, if you want a detailed walkthrough
Thanks for the answers but the thing about "heal" I thought by feeding on innocents would refill my health bar, it dosent.Maximus38 wrote:To try and answer your questions:
