My Favorite...

I like the Thaumaturgy discipline, the look of the Tremere female, and the versatility that can be squeezed from the Tremere clan. Between Thaumaturgy and Dominate, you can simply spam Disciplines upon the unfortunate enemy. I finally feed upon the "lucky" survivors. Only place this didn't work well was in the "Brotherhood" cult sanctuary. Vomiting blood wasted a lot of time and blood(Thank God I had not been using blood packs).

Besides, I have played all the clans and Blood Boil has done more damage to the Gargoyle than any other discipline I have tried. After getting the Thaumaturgy damage item from Strauss, Thaumaturgy rocked the Sabbat house with a bloodbath. Blood Purge kept me alive in situations where melee was required. Blood Salvo kept me from Frenzy(although Bloodsucker's Communion is better because it doesn't require line of sight). Bloodshield was even better than Fortitude for protecting from damage. All around, Thaumaturgy in this game rocked!

I've enjoyed all the Vlad discussions. I am appalled, however, how quickly people misread people's intentions from their misinformation. I don't think anyone has meant to offend. Some people only know what they've learned(whether its right or wrong). This doesn't make them bad people, just misinformed. Besides, isn't this thread about your favorite clan?

Welcome to the forums, Lasombra, but please keep on subject. There is no playable Lasombra clan in Bloodlines, and this particular GB forum is about the computer game, only. If you want to discuss the PnP game, check out our Pen n Paper Discussion forum.

I really dig the Tremere. They’re scholarly, introverted warlocks but there’s also something bad@$$ about a group of kine that go and turn themselves into kindred; manage to fend off the enraged veterans; and become a key pillar in the largest sect.

Thaumaturgy kicks major butt in Bloodlines, making up for your shortcomings and/or intensifying your strengths in close/ranged combat. And, despite the initial weakness in Social points, Tremere are still strong with Persuasion through strong Scholarship. They’ve also got a real pimping 2nd Haven  (though that Skyline residence is no pig sty in comparison (sorry, Nosses)).

I've played as Tremere, the whole "they're creepy & I think like it that way" thing you see in the trailer sound veeery good to me. Plus, the Tremere chick sort of resembled me. But the Ventrue appleal to me as well, everybody likes a very regal vampire once in a while.

Nosferatu - stealthy killers. The way that they don't need to care about social traits because everyone will look down on them anyway because of their appearace. The things i dislike about them in Bloodlines is that alot of bosses, monsters take you out of stealth if there is an scripted event and then you can't re-enter it, all the Nosferatu clothes are leather, it would have been awesome if they allowed some other clothes for them, there is nothing better looking then an Nosferatu with an smock (I hope I spelled that right).

The coolest clan in all of the Vampire world is Baali. I mean c'mon, even the Tzimisce calls them monsters.

I Bloodline I played Toreador. They are well balanced and interesting. Plus, Clerity makes you go all "hey look at me i'm in the Matrix YEAH!"
You guys are my best friends, we've always been together, we're four of a kind laughing all day and palling away, we're best friends!

Ventrue!
Having Dominant in Dialogues is great; also I like their elegant look ;)

Next will be Malkavian!
They are pure fun

No offense intended, Lunaida, but in some parts of the world that look is referred to as 'affected', or 'stuck up'. It's one of the things about LaCroix that I despise the most. Suits make me want to hurl. Real people clothe themselves for warmth and comfort - not to try to impress their status on other people.

I'm told that a three-piece is probably the most uncomfortable clothing a man can wear this side of a bio-chem suit. Sexy, I can deal with - so I have no problem with the Toreadors. We are, after all, people. Pompous makes my stomach churn.

My Favourite Clan

The Sister Of Destruction..

Malkavian

I love the malkavians ability to be the absurdist.. yet the only one in a crowded room who see's people for who they really are.

They see right through petty fascades and I love them for it..

their ramblings greatly amuse me too

The person who sees the world as it is must be insane. Yeah, I like that about the Malks, too, and they don't even worry about it. That's pretty darn cool.

No offense taken!

Yes, you are right, LaCroix has that kind of look; then again, I like LaCroix! lol
He does send you to do this and that; in this game, who doesn't?!
LaCroix is too much for a Ventrue, I believe, but I think that all the fuss he makes is rather cute!

But that is not the point; I don't like the Ventrue because of LaCroix, I like them because they were the first clan I played in this game and I still remember all the fun I had with them. Their "Dominant" discipline was of great use to me because I wanted to play the game as combat-free as possible.
The Ventrue that I imagined for my character was more like a calculating, conservative and clever individual who was very good with persuation. A little elegance won't hurt, when you want to persuade people.

Actually, the first time that I went through the test that you can take at the beginning of them game to see what clan suits you best, I hoped that I would get Toreador, but I got Ventrue and decided to check it out. I have played with a Toreador too, but I don't like them that much, they are too dainty for my taste.

As for real people dressing only to keep themselves warm, well I don't agree with that. I don't think you can consider people who like the beauty of clothes as "unreal" people... ;)

The good thing about this game is that it satisfies people with different opinions, you see... lol

Point taken, Lunaida, and well stated. Thank you.

I would go with Malk and Nos. Because they gives one a total different style of play than the other clans.

Tremere are alot of fun (filthy blood theiving wannabes that they are) and are probably my fav in the current game...

If I could see any added (with proper disciplines):

Serpents of the Light (Setite Antitribu - actually the good guys, regular Setites=bad))

Assamite: I'm a hard core assamite, wouldn't know it from the Tremere reference?

Salubrie: Just a cool clan, not enough remaining I think.. pity (tremere suck)

Daughters of Cacophony: Another fun one for a video game, I would think.

Anaximander wrote:If I were a vampire in the V:tM universe, I would most likely be Nosferatu. That is the clan that most closely matches my style and personality. If I answer the questionaire at the beginning of the game with complete honesty, I end up Nosferatu every time.

However, that doesn't answer the question this thread poses. My favorite clan, the clan that appeals to me the most, is Tremere. Theirs is the power of the Mind, rather than the Body, and that appeals to me. I have always preferred character whose power was not derived from raw physical prowess, but rather from a keen intellect and years of devout study. Anybody can swing a sword or fire a gun. But who else can make someone explode and take out the entire room with them?
Haha, if I were Malkavian I'd suspect you were one of my personalities ;)

I like both the Nosferatu and the Tremere for the same reason: finesse, they're both masters of a subtle 'art'. I'm no brute force guy, and neither am I a real guns guy (my Tremere deals enough damage with his katana to whack most enemies with little trouble, if they survive until I'm close enough to actually hit them, that is...). And Nosferatu just slice throats without being seen but are still able to take a beating if needed (unlike most Malkavians, though I must say haven't gotten very far with my Malkavion yet)

Now a Tremere with Obfuscate... Hmm...

I just found out how much of a massive advantage the Nosferatu have in the sewers and in the final boss missions. (At least until they get to the bosses themselves.) I'm glad I didn't play a Nosferatu first, because breezing through the Kuei-Jin temple and the Tower in minutes, picking off enemies only if I felt like it, would have spoiled me. Obfuscate really surprised me with its almost god-mode effectiveness, probably because I tend to hack my way through every level with melee-oriented characters.

Lately my favorite still has to be the mangy Gangrels. I can't get enough of the ranged Animalism powers (Spectral Wolf, Bloodsucker's Communion) stopping most of a group dead in their tracks while I splatter the rest in buffed War Form - and then get most if not all of the blood back thanks to those little Bloodsucker bats. The blood-red Protean point of view also looks great.

The gargoyle was a pain in the ass though - without the sledgehammer or the protective talisman my Gangrel barely made it out of there.

In terms of favorite look, it's either the beautiful Tremere outfits for the ladies, or the female Malkavian deranged cowgirl.
