KoTor story (SPOILERS)
KoTor story (SPOILERS)
I'm trying to piece together the full story of Knights of the Old Republic, from what I learned playing Sith Lords. This is what I've figured out; please fix any omissions or errors.
==CORE STORYLINE==
Some 20 years after Exar Kun's war upon the Republic, his former allies, the Mandalorians, makes a second attempt at conquering the Republic. The Jedi Council decides to bide for time to figure out plan, but many Jedi wanted to go to war right away. Revan, Malak and the Exile are among these. Revan's leadership allowed the Republic to turn the war in their favor, culminating in the cataclysmic final battle at Malachor V. There, Bao-Dur builds the Mass Shadow Generator, a gravity-based superweapon that destroys the Mandalorians and most of the Republic forces. The genocide at Malachor V creates a terrible disturbance in the Force. In order to survive this cataclysm, the Exile completely destroys his connection to the Force and becomes "a void in the Force".
Sometime after Malachor V the Exile returns to Coruscant to answer to the Council for his treason. The Council senses his absence in the Force and is so freaked they exile him, pretending it to be for his treason.
Whilst Revan was fighting the Mandalorians far out in space, he discovers the existence of the secret True Sith empire, and that it was they who manipulated the Mandalorians into attacking the Republic so as to weaken it ahead of their own planned invasion. Deciding that the Republic and the Jedi Order are too weak to deal with the looming True Sith threat, he plots a military takeover. He finds the Star Forge and uses it to build his armada and this leads us to KOTOR1 and the Jedi Civil War. After KOTOR1 ends, Revan remembers the True Sith empire and decides to head off into the Unknown Regions to deal with them in some manner, taking the Ebon Hawk, HK-47 and T3 with him. Revan's disappearance eventually causes the Sith to start fighting amongst each other. The Sith Academy on Korriban is destroyed in the process. Darth Sion, one of the Sith Lords, escapes the fighting and flees to Malachor V.
Kreia, a Jedi scholar, Revan's first teacher and something of a heretic, explores Malachor V as part of her search for Revan. There, she finds the Trayus Academy, an abandoned Sith Academy. There she becomes a Sith Lord and renames herself Darth Traya. She takes two apprentices: Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion. She teaches them that neither the light nor dark side is superior, and that indulging in negative feelings for their own sake is unwise. Frustrated with her teachings, the two rebel and cast her out, stripping her of her powers.
After her exile, Kreia comes to the conclusion that Force itself is a bad thing, an uncaring god that manipulates the galaxy into massively-destructive conflicts in it efforts to maintain balance. She comes to disdain both Jedi and Sith for being unwitting puppets of the Force. Then, she learns of the Exile and how he severed his connection to the Force. For her, the Exile is living proof that the Force isn't vital to life as the Jedi have always believed. Studying the Exile's life, she discovers that great tragedies - like Malachor V - can create wounds in the Force. Kreia realises that she has found a way to attack the Force itself, and decides to eventually make the Exile her apprentice.
Sion and Nihilus rally what's left of the Sith and start hunting Jedi so that they may feed upon them. Sion needs to feed because his body is too severely damaged to survive without constantly calling upon the Force; the root of Nihilus's hunger is less clear.
Revan, still in the Unknown Regions, sends T3 and the Ebon Hawk back to Republic space with instructions to find the Exile. Kreia has tracked him down first, and somehow secretly arranges for both of them to travel to Telos on board the Harbinger. The Ebon Hawk is attacked by a Sith warship, and the Harbinger salvages it. Later on, the Harbinger encounters and boards the Sith warship. They find take on board Sion's unconscious body, whilst the rest of the Sith crew sneaks on board the Harbinger using stealth generators so that they can quietly search the ship for the Exile. When they find him, they try to take over the ship. The HK unit, wanting the Exile for itself, moves him and Kreia back on board the Ebon Hawk, and they escape to Peragus. This leads us to KOTOR2.
==SIDEKICK BACKSTORIES==
G0-T0 - G0-T0 was the first advanced technical droid the Republic sent to help the Ithorians restore Telos. However, G0-T0 was also instructed to aid the reconstruction of the Republic at large in any way he could. Deciding that its current, legitimate assignment is too much of an obstacle, it abandons its duties and joins the Exchange, using the persona of Goto. "Goto" quickly rises in rank and uses the Exchange's influence to manipulate galactic commerce in the Republic's favor (eg he intercepts Vogga's fuel shipments because he fears Vogga will fleece the Republic).
Mandalore - Before leaving for the Unknown Region, Revan instructs (or manipulates?) Canderous Ordo to rebuild the Mandalorian clans so that they can eventually fight the True Sith. Canderous permanently dons a suit of armor so as to conceal his identity (and thus his association with Revan) from his fellow Mandalorians and declares himself the new Mandalore.
Atton - Atton was a Republic soldier who joined Revan's forces in fighting the Mandalorians. Out of respect for Revan and hatred for the placid Jedi Council, he stayed with Revan after the war and became a hunter of Jedi. Atton managed to capture numerous Jedi, until one Jedi he was hunting informed him of his Force sensitivity, and that the Sith would turn him into a Dark Jedi if they found out. Before Atton killed her, she offered him a vision of the Force. Greatly disturbed, Atton deserts the Sith and becomes a wanderer.
Hanharr - When Czerka arrived on Kashyyyk, they took Hanharr as a slave, but not before Hanharr slew his entire village to spare them from the indignity of slavery.

You have pretty much the story down, just a couple things:
1. Revan didnt build the sith academy on Malachor, it was there before him/her.
2. Kreia was once Revan's master, that is how she knows him/her.
3. Remember that Kreia was on the Ebon Hawk when it was attacked, if Revan did send T3 to look for the Exile, he probably sent it to look for Kreia too.
4. Bao-Dur's secret weapon is the Mass Shadow Generator.
5. In the game there is some debate about how the Exile lost his connection. The Jedi Masters say that the Exile's actions severed his own connection, Kreia says the Jedi Masters severed his connection, either way i do not think the Exile did it purposefully as he is bitter about his connection being lost and wants to know why it happened, indicating he did not cut his own connection on purpose.
6. Revan probably learned all his galactic knowledge both from the Jedi Teaching and his travels in space.
7. If the battle at Malachor V was cataclysmic and, as most believe, ended the war, why would Revan still be fighting the Mandalorians after the Exile returned to answer for his crimes on Malachor?

Just one question. Who is piloting the Ebon Hawk all this while? T3-M4? I have no clue how a droid can even fly a ship in the first place. Secondly, the story didn't explain what happened to HK-47 and how he suddenly became disabled in KOTOR 2.Johnny wrote: Revan, still in the Unknown Regions, sends T3 and the Ebon Hawk back to Republic space with instructions to find the Exile.

The ship was probably set on autopilot and I assume HK-47 was disabled somehow during the Sith attack that left the Ebon Hawk drifting in space. Either that or Kreia disabled him for some reason because he was some kind of threat to her.DesR85 wrote:Just one question. Who is piloting the Ebon Hawk all this while? T3-M4? You're right. The ship must have been set in autopilot and with the astrogation chart in the Ebon Hawk, the waypoints must have been programmed into it so that the ship will fly to wherever both the Exile and Kreia are. As for HK-47, I recall seeing somewhere that he was hit with blaster fire. As what you've stated, it could have occured during the Sith attack. I suspect the Sith assassins though its just a wild guess. Also, I doubt Kreia could have disabled HK-47 though that's mere speculation on my part.mr_sir wrote:The ship was probably set on autopilot and I assume HK-47 was disabled somehow during the Sith attack that left the Ebon Hawk drifting in space. It seemed like it was taken apart, not merely destroyed or hit, hence you having to go around and look for parts, rather than them being right there in the ship or in one of the compartments in the Peragus Mechanic officer's rooms (in case they cleaned it out). It is also possible that HK-50, when he got on board the Ebon Hawk, destroyed HK-47.
It is much more belivable that the Exile cut the connection to the force himself to survive the masses of deaths on Malacor V which would have either turned him to the dark side or killed him outright. He did not do so "on purpose", but it was more of a unconsiouns choice/act of the force.Vega wrote:<snip>

The fact that he can't remember is mearly one of the "memory loss" tricks which is used in such stories.
This is also the reason why Kreia is so interested in him, because the Exile uses the force, eventhough he's not "in touch" with the force (the other masters can't feel his connection to the force) ... thus a wound in the force, and therefore he can "kill the force". How is not explained though, but I doubt she want the Exile death or want to kill the Exile, based on her dialog in the end.
It is arguble that Revan "turned" to the Sith to learn the knowlegde from them as well as from Jedi to better prepare for the "evil forces" he saw (the "true sith?) - hence Kreias comments that "Revan knew the difference between a fall and a sacrafice).Vega wrote:<snip>

Revan is not fighting the Mandalorians when the Exile returns to the council. That is just before the Jedi Civil war where Revan and Malak turns upon the Republic with the aid of the Star Forge. The council says that he's (the Exile) is the only one to return - all the others have fallen to the dark side - hence their distrust towards the Exile (and combined with his "loss of the Force", they decide to exile him).Vega wrote:<snip>

I suspect he knew that the Exile is alive somewhere, since he deserted Revan before the Jedi Civil War. And I think the reason why Revan wanted the Exile to search for him/her is because the Exile is his/her fellow compatriot who fought alongside Revan during the Mandalorian wars so it comes as no surprise to look for him since he/she (the Exile) is the only person Revan can trust. Just mere speculation on my part, though.Stevie wrote:I'm not sure about this. Why would Revan want the Exile found? Does he even know what happened to the Exile?
It could be possible, though as what I've said before, I think the Exile is the only person who Revan can trust to find him/her.mr_sir wrote: Didn't Revan send T3 & co. back to get help, not specifically to find the Exile?

It would be very concivable that Revan would know of the "Exile" and his ... well exile, seeing as he was the only Jedi who served under him who didn't get corrupted to the dark side on Malachor but went "back" to face the jedi-councils judgement.Stevie wrote:I'm not sure about this. That part I would think would be safe to assume that Revan would know. The KOTOR2 story, I doubt Revan would know.... yet.

Actualy we dont know that the two droids accompany Revan at least T3 dosnt because of the recording of Bastila. We can assume that mabey Revan was looking for the exile and so sent Hk-47 in the Eban Hawk. This would explain how the Hawk and HK returned to known space and why Bastila and Carth were asking you in KOTOR2 if we'd seen Revan.

Er, sorry to contradict you, but most background info about this game that i have read or uncovered points to the fact that Revan had traveled back to Malachor V before vanishing from known space. He presumably brought T3 and HK with him and left them on Malachor. The recording on T3 was made by Bastila as she knew or rather suspected Revan of planning to disappear and abandon her. So, in a effort to keep him safe, she secretly programmed T3 to locate her or any other Jedi he could find in the event that T3 lost contact with Revan. Since he abandoned T3 and HK with the Hawk on Malachor, presumably, one can assume the programming became active and T3 starts searching for help.Musicmaker wrote:Actualy we dont know that the two droids accompany Revan at least T3 dosnt because of the recording of Bastila. As in KotOR II he is responsible for astrogation charts, i can only guess he might be capable of commandeering a ship. Tho how he met up with Kreia and the Exile later i cannot say. Just my 2 cents
