pirates and fable 2
I read somewhere that their will be pirates in Fable 2, does anyone know if that is true or not?
"Of humble birth, he entered the Emperor's service in the lowly status of courier. Dispatched to Balmora in the waning years of the Third Era, he arrived in Morrowind, ignorant of the role he was to play in that nation's history."
I don't recall hearing about pirates in Fable 2. Where did you get this information from?
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

I don't think that guy's a pirate. He could be a soldier or someone else. Its better to wait for more details before jumping to conclusions.

Oh, that guy. I thought you meant that guy who was firing a gun in that hooded little girl's apparition. Hmm, the guy in green clothes, right? He doesn't look like a pirate to me. Looks more like a Robin Hood look-alike if you ask me.

If its set around the 16th/17th/18th century and kinda has a European/British feel to the setting like Fable did, then it could be anyone as they all wore funny hats and wigs back then lol.Mandalorianx wrote:hehe yeah but it just the hat that makes him look like a pirat to me:laugh:
I still think its possible they could include pirates, but I personally don't see the point unless they include boat travel etc. into the game. Pirates on the mainland will just be like bandits but dressed differently so I don't really see much point in them. If you were on a boat and they raided it and came aboard then it would work

Okay, that is a legitimate source. Looks like there will be pirates in Fable 2 since its mentioned in a gaming magazine.triline beta wrote:I got it from Xbox magazine.

If pirates are going to be introduced in the game, there could be a possibility of ship travel in the game though I'm just making a guess here.

I was under the impression that the cullis gates in Fable were similar to teleporters?triline beta wrote:that would be cool if there was ship travel. I mean teloportation in the 16th-18th century? I dont think so.

congrats on 1000 posts
. But I was under the impression that this was still albion, just like 500 years later. if that is true, then i guess the cullis gates might still be active, but I dont think that it would fit in with the whole more modern albion...but since it is more modern, their would be more cities, therefore more need of a fast transport system (cullis gates, boat, ect). I think that their will be more water to accomodate the pirates, so I think they should put the cullis gates in the begining and have them fade out or something...that would be ok. But I dont think that guns and teloporters go well together.

Speaking of cullis gates, why not make them restricted to a certain country of land and you will only be able to travel to towns/cities within that country/state? That would, in my opinion, make use of sea travel should you travel to a different land or country.triline beta wrote: But I was under the impression that this was still albion, just like 500 years later. if that is true, then i guess the cullis gates might still be active, but I dont think that it would fit in with the whole more modern albion...but since it is more modern, their would be more cities, therefore more need of a fast transport system (cullis gates, boat, ect). About guns, since its the 17th or 18th century, it would make sense for guns to exist by then. In fact, it will suit Fable's setting if Lionhead managed to make them blend in or design them to fit the game. Since its too early to tell how guns will perform in the game, its best to just wait for a gameplay demonstration to see how it all fits.
