Dead character on load

Post by Archaon376 »

Okay, so I'm having this problem and hopefully someone will be able to help me.

I finished clearing the bandit camp and I reached the border of the map so I could travel back to the Friendly Arms Inn. I encountered enemies during my travels; wyverns. Needless to say, I got pwned as we were only levels 1 and 2.

So I load back my game before exiting the bandit camp and I notice that Minsc is dead with his body no where to be found. I realize this is a bug, I try the autosave instead of my personal one but he is still dead. :(

I mourn for his loss and decide I will NOT continue the game without him.
Does anyone have a way of bringing him back with his items?

Sometimes in certain fights a character can get so wounded that there isn't a body to ressurect. That is probally what happand to Minsc.
As for getting him back..i have no idea.

But how did you finish the bandid camp and still be level 1-2?
Maybe you should do a bit more scouting around and doing some sidequests.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Yea I probably should, but I like a challenge. Is there anyway to rewind the game to a previous point?

You could try using the clua-console:

directions for use are here:

CLUA Console

You will need to used the command:

CreateCreature("<string>") where <string> is the filename for minsc.

Try "minsc1" or "minsc2" and so on to create a minsc that is the level equal to the number after the name.

If you have a save near where he got killed his items should be on the ground where he died..they do not disappear even if he got "chunked" (which is what we call death that destroys a character). But the items will disappear if its been a while since you've been to the area.

Alright I'll try this later. But the thing is he's not "DEAD" dead. My party ran into a troublesome encounter with 2 wyverns, some of my guys died so I decided to load my saved game. I loaded it and Minsc is dead with his body no where to be found. I'll give it a go when I have the time though.

Edit:
Alright so I just tried it and it's not helping.
It spawns Minsc, yes, but the other one has some items that I could have really used and his body is still nowhere to be found. I suppose I'll just start over.

If anyone has any idea how/if it's possible to rewind the game please let me know.

You cannot rewind the game in any other way then to load an earlier save (use atleast 3kinds of saves auto/quick and a normal one, preferably more)
You can edit in the items using Gatekeeper
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
