For a moment it crossed Halgrath's mind that perhaps Kron wasn't too sure he was up the task, but then remembering the nature of the drow maybe Kron was just being extra cautious. But it the end perhaps gaining an extra ally was more than worth it. Further more, this Lucifer seems able to evaluate Kron on more than just the fact that he is a drow.

"All right then. Lucifer, you do seem a capable addition. And i have come to trust Kron's decisions a few times, so i believe it was more than just an opportunistic meeting. You don't look like a wizard or a priest like me, but more of those adept at combat. Are you a local here then?"

Turning at Kron "And perhaps we can formulate what to do next?"

Lucifer nodded. "Again, I'm not local to this place, and technically, I am a priest. Not the type who throws divine spells around, but a monk." with a smile, he added "I punch things."
"By the way, a moment ago you mentioned something about a gem... is that the nature of this quest of yours? It would be quite interesting to know what my overly curious self has been drawn into"

The beast had warned both of them not to reveal their task to anyone else.

"We do not know much else about that gem. Nor do we do this own our own will. That is the best i can tell you. It is up to you, Lucifer, to weigh on our words and action."

"Anyway, since my companion looks as if he has some burden on his mind it might be best to rest here till nightfall. This does not suit me, but perhaps it is better to sneak into the mines after the sun settles"

"The mines?" they hadn't yet revealed where they were going "Is that were the gem is located? I'd rather not blindly follow anyone into the unknown, so now might be a good time to discuss this, if we are going to wait a while, anyway."

That 'person' who brought us here never told us more than that. Both Kron and I think we should decide to check this town for information. Nobody seems to know anything about any precious gem, so it might be best to check the mine. Perhaps it could be more than coincidence that goblins are interested in the mine here, as was the case from where we came from...

Lucifer still had a feeling he wasn't being told everything, but decided to let that lie for the moment.
"So, then... tell me about yourself! Kron's a Drow... What're you?" The last was said with a grin.

Relieved that the topic changed, at least for the time being...

"I am just an ordinary guy. I came from the lands in the North in search for adventure and experience, but mostly to leave and see the world. I am indebted to the Lathander Order since rescued from a bandit raid. This is my first field assignment, you could say that..."

Looking back, Halgrath never expected things turned out as they are from what he thought would be a simple assignment

"Through some unexpected circumstances, i offered my service as a priest and healer to Kron and a few other companions. It seems its been days since we were separated from them, but i may be mistaken. Kron might be able to recall things better...

"Lathander, huh? I used to be in His service... I left the order, though, after discovering wide-spread corruption within it's ranks." Lucifer hoped Halgrath wouldn't get angry at such words...

"I was a member of a Monestary dedicated to Lathander before coming here on... other business. I'd been climbing a ranking system the High Priest had set up when he approached me and offered me a position in what he called a "pet project". I became highly suspicious, and decided to agree in order to gather information on that. I was led into some catacombs beneath the monestary, and further down. Beneath the catacombs was a huge cave, where... where there was a gathering of people... they were all people I recognized, other monks like myself. They were all chanting in unison, words I understood. They..." Lucifer stopped, and glanced at Kron "They were chanting in Undercommon, in front of a large statue of Lolth, the Drow Goddess." here he paused to collect his thoughts and calm himself down. It was a painful memory. "The High Priest forced me to join in, and I reluctantly obeyed, for no other reason that I wouldn't be killed on the spot. When I had the chance the next day, I fled. I decided to search other Monestaries and churches, and found, to my horror, several such covens, all in Churches dedicated to Lathander. I guess since he's the "Morninglord" they associate him with the sun, and thus is an enemy of the Drow who are blinded by sunlight. I've been training since then, trying to become strong enough to eradicate this corruption."
