Every policy and rule which have been introduced would not work for all members.

Now that I agree with, even if I don't like the new policy.

So, the opinion of the members does not matter one whit as long as the mods agree?
Oops, I paraphrased again, everyone please ignore my post. :D

I think perhaps everyone shouldnt try to take up to a defense about there ideas so quickly, everyone is so quick to judge what is wrong and what is right. There are many fingers being pointed at everyone. Yet no one has given each others thoughts a good thought, instead everyone quickly rejects the other's reasons or thoughts on this, none really trying to look at it from their point of view and perhaps agreeing with them in some way. I think both sides have good points. Each having a good reason not to have or to have this rule. However Buck wanted something that would help the "Moderators" out not the "members" therefore its really out of our hands as to what we can do to change this. This is something for the Moderators not us members, but what I think the others are trying to voice is that the members are affected by this in some way, each having their personal opinion as to why they are affected. I happen to think this is very important issue. If a few didnt agree it would just fly over, but a lot has happened due to this rule and not for the best. I wish that we could all reach a midpoint so that everyone even in the smallest amount would be satisfied.

Slade, as I've said repeatedly.

A forum isn't there to make moderators happy. It's there to make members happy, and be used by members.

I have no problem with assisting moderators, making their job easier, afterall, I try to report posts whenever I find a problem.

However, when something can compromise member support, then it becomes a difficult decision.

It's what I've been pointing at, forums are easy to moderate if no one visits, but we don't want, so we need a balance.

Firstly - many issues regarding this new policy was thought off and debated before it was voted upon.
Secondly, a new policy will not be revoked simply because a handfull of people are very active against it.
Third, it might be reevaluated at a later point in time, when the moderators have had a chance evalute its benefits.

You are attempting to attribute opinions to me by paraphrasing my quoted statement. That is done to spark response.
That is flamebaiting.

Xandax, by the Gods, have you not noticed this aint only about the policy? It is about the attitude. Look around, open your eyes wide. This is despotism, I had pointed you that.

Im just a bit surprised that nothing was said or announced way before this was done. Meaning given some time to see what all the members ,who could manage to post there opinions, thought of this policy. That way Buck could take it from there and tweak it a bit so that it would not recieve such critism

@DJ, you know that out of anyone I know this, but I assume that the moderators brought this up, and Buck agreed to it to make their jobs easier and why would he be so willing to make such a change, it is probably because the Moderators arent paid for their services and he wanted to make there jobs easier.

Xandax, I would also like to say that I agree about CE's post I think this is the first time I have seen her react like that. It seemed a bit rude in my opinion.

It is not despotisme just because you lost the vote.
Had we voted against the policy in the moderator forum, would you have claimed it was despotisme then?

You think it is despotisme because Buck decides on his own website. You can not go into any establisment and cry despotisme because the owner decides something you disagree with.

No forum rule or policy have been discussed in that manner. Forum rules and policies exists for a reason and there will always be people unhappy about them. Some member will always oppose some changes irregardless of the motives for such changes.

Thats usually because the rules or policies are made to protect the members and have order. This policy doesnt do any of that, it helps the moderators, but like I said in some way affects the members.

rules on flaming ,pornography and profanity are there so that the members feel confort or a sense of respect. This is just to help the moderators and to keep up with the other boards.
Buck] ..I will confirm that I did remove the moderator status from two members earlier today. I'm not going to disclose the reasons why I made this decision wrote: if this is between rav, luis and buck I think they would want to know who these other key people are.

Heh! Xandax, this will go nowhere - but then. I mean the attitude. I mean the secret meetings. I mean the PM's I'm sure Buck received to demote us. I mean the post of the decision and the closure of the trheads with no warning, no request to start another thread, just a closure and a deep smile. :) Dont distort my words. And this is Buck site yes - I wonder how would Buck do if the site gets no movement.

I could risk to say names, but that would probabily get me perma banned. The names of the posters go at the top of the posts in the mod forums as well :p
