Hey, I think that the forgotten realms are really interesting, and it's really a full world with empires and border wars and squabbles between barons, secret organizations, and alot more. I think there should at least be a thread where you
can actuallt talk about forgotten realms histories, and stuff like that. If you think I'm being stupid starting a thread for this reason, go away. But if you have something interesting to say about forgotten realms. than say it. Say what your favorite place is, your favorite famous person, or really anything about FR. I'll start it off, hmmm. Well, personally I think that their should be alot more FR books that take place in Cormyr, and I really like the legend of the "Valley of the Gods". I also like Hrothgar, a famous adventurer from Icewind Dale.
Bow down to the overmind, and submit your brain to the great minds that think alike!

My favorate place is the Sea of Fallen Stars.

My favorate person is a Vampire that lives in Ravens Bluff. I can not remember her name....but she runs a high quality Inn for ship captains in the dock section of the city. It is said that it is a well known secret that is shared with nuetrul seafares. They get a relaxing place to stay, good food and hospitality....and they willingly give some of their blood in return -

I belive I got this from the "Nigh****ch" module.

Though I've read alot of the Drizzt books my favorite region would have to be either Waterdeep or Shadowdale. Waterdeep is the center of so many tales of intrigue and such and plays a role in most all of the Forgotten Realms stories, even if they take place leagues away. Shadowdale is another favorite because of the people that live there: Elminster, Storm, Sylune, the Knights, Dove (for a period), etc. The place seems rather top-heavy with famous names, honestly, but it's impossible not to like it.
As for favorite characters? I have to go with any of the Seven sisters, Storm being my favorite. I just find them enormously interesting; Seven gorgeous women, all sisters, all the children of a Goddess, all immensely powerful... Whats not to like?
I've been a fan of the Forgotten Realms for years, and have read a God awful amount of those books... My new goal, however, to get Bob Salvatore to stop being such wussy, mushy writer in his books... He needs to kill someone off, honestly.
"Be thankful you're healthy."
"Be bitter you're not going to stay that way."
"Be glad you're even alive."
"Be furious you're going to die."
"Things could be much worse."
"They could be one hell of a lot better."

I think my favorite area of the Forgotten Realms would have to be...either Halrua or maybe around the Sea of Fallen Stars, near Iraebor and such places.

Myth Drannor for me

Those ruins (long long before the PC game came out) always intrigued me. I thought they were one of the best areas in Faerun. Elven history always goes way back and the long history and the twists and interweaving plots of its rise, pinnacle, and fall were well thought out IMHO. Always had a fondness for the elves, I guess.
