I am in the palace sewers in the "Old Way" route to the palace. The ghosts, etc. are killing my character before I can get far. Any tips?
Thanks

What level are you? How is your Sneak skill? Do you have a decent magic weapon? Are you keeping your weapons and equipment in good repair? Do you have LOTS of Healing potions, Shield potions, etc? Do you have a good ranged destruction spell?
But having good Sneak is best. You can walk past most of 'em. If you are careful. You should be wearing a certain pair of shoes, so your steps will be quiet anyway, and in WALKING Sneak mode, keeping your distance from the ghoulies and ghosties as much as you can, you should should get away with only having to kill one or two.

it depends on what character type you have. If you are hack n slash then you should level up more. if you are sneak sneak attack them. If you are magic... just hit them from across water or from far away.
I'm guessing your a sneak type. If you are a sneaky type you should have some marksman skill. If you don't you should work on marksman first or start over. If you can't kill ghosts you probably haven't figured out how to fight best with character. I'll give you details.
Melee Character:Use a spell or something to make you stronger before you fight and then run in and hack at them. Melee should be simple enough. Just hack three times, block, hack three times, block and so on and so forth
Assassin/Sneaky Character w/ bow: sneak the whole way and every time you see an enemy get close to a corner. shoot them and if they don't die (they should if your marksman is high enough) cast chameleon if you have it and if you dont' run back around the corner till you lose them. If you think your character can take them staight up then just fire a couple more shots.
Assassin/Sneaky Character w/o bow: wow...
please dont' tell me this is you. but if so that's ok. make sure your sneak skill is uber super mega high. Make sure you get a good look at their back before going in and if they are looking the other way get them from behind. If they don't die from a sneak attack x6 they should die. if not and you can't take them straight up then run run run! come back and hit them again. if you can take them hack away.
Magic: don't really know...
i would just fire away from a distance and if you have to run.
you could walk by but attacking gets you the needed skill you will need later in the game.
If none of these work then do other guild quests or the main quest till you get stronger and hopefully you can take them then.
good luck

Why am I fighting to live, if I'm just living to fight? Why am I trying to see, when there aint nothing in sight? Why am I trying to give, when no one gives me a try? Why am I dying to live, if I'm just living to die?

This is a good way of operating a Sneaky type. But you probably won't need to run away because, if you have high Sneak, most will die with one x6 hit if you have a magic or high-level weapon (I like daggers - very fast) - and if not, they very likely still don't see you, so you can get in another Sneak hit x6 which should finish it off, or damn near, depending on critter level.Mr. Arrow wrote: Assassin/Sneaky Character w/o bow: wow...

My current char is a High Elf stealth character, and she practically strolled though the Old Way.
