Trouble on the Waterfront

Post by Maximus38 »

Oblivion generally runs beautifully on my computer......execpt when I get to the Waterfront, where it slows down to a crawl (and I'm being kind.)
Is it just a case of that area being very graphics-hungry, or is there a bug?
It's a shame, I really want to begin the Thieves Quest as it sounds like it's one of the best in the game, but I can't face another half-hour wait to walk 50 yards in the place.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or better still, know a patch that would fix it?

Try changing your graphics settings for water as there is lots of that around the waterfront. Turning off reflective water and all that.

Thanks for your suggestions - I reduced water. draw differences, everything, it ran just fine :)
Shame my computer died, and I went and bought a Mac....still once i have enough money to buy a copy of Windows XP SP2 to use with Boot Camp on my iMAc, I'll see if I can get up and running again......
