Thieves Guild Quest **Spoiler Warning***

Post by Maximus38 »

I've just started the quest....and things have not gotten off to a good start! I have to steal the diary, and bring it back to the guy who is running the quest....of course, someone else got in first and stole it instead. Now I have a chance if I can steal it back from a girl called Metheun (or something similar) but where is it? I sneaked into her house and it's not on her body, I tried to steal it while she slept, or around the room.
I hope there's a simple explanation....I even talked to her and she TOLD me he had it but had hidden it somewhere I wouldn't find it......

If this first TG Quest is your current quest, the green pointer (or red if it's inside somewhere) should locate it for you. But don't worry if you fail. Go back to your friendly doyen and you get another chance!

Spoiler:

For future reference, if you decide to do this quest again in another game - or if you decide to reload a pre-quest save - as soon as Methredil takes off after the diary, go and talk to Puny Ancus who is sleeping very close by. For a bribe, he will tell you where to go for the diary. Fast travel to that area of the city, RUN to the red-arrowed house, Go into Sneak, break in, RUN to the green-arrowed desk, and grab the diary. You should get there before Methredil - but only just! You will probably hear the door click as she comes in and goes out again.

or if you want to just get it fast, I always find it in the chest that is locked acrossed from the bed next to the door.Im not sure but i think the chest might be located on top of a shelf.

To find the diary, go into her house, and right beside the door and beside her bed is a chest... im pretty sure my memory serves me right, the chest is locked, but the diary is in there. After that just wait until like midnight and talk to the Christoph??(whomever it is)
