Who should play who in a BG2 movie?

Anything goes... just keep it clean.

Whoa

That's Christina Ricca! :speech:
I did not recognize her at all. Guess it's been a while since I've seen a movie she's been in. She would indeed be an excellent Bodhi.

Jon Irenicus
Also get the picture of David when he played the interrogator on Star Trek, he seems quite good at evil roles
He sure does. That was a good part for him as well.
You just answered yourself ;) And if you don't get that then because duff is hot and she probably has some acting skills.
 Fair enough, but being the older brother of a preteen who loves Hilary Duff I'm aware that she hasn't gone the route of her Teen-sex-icon contemporaries and has only done goody-goody roles in preteen movies. I'd be right with you for, say, Lindsay Lohan but...

Look Hilary Duff doesn't have enough experience, sure she can act in some high school movies coz she's just been to a one.

I don't care if she's your daydream
I'd go with Charlize Theron as Viconia because she has more experience in acting and she looks more of viconia than HD. Maybe even Liv Tyler, she did a good job in LOTR.

Another Great Job

Thanks Luz,

Awesome job. Looks great, many good choices although I still think David Warner's the best one. Appreciate the hard work.

The movie could be like Final Fantasy, and the same rendered Irenicus and voices from the game would just rock :p

Here's an online petition created by yours truly for a BG movie. Come sign for a chance to see BG in theatres (slim, I know, but a petition can't possibly hurt). :p

Just one question. Are you sure this method is effective? Also, I'm not sure if Bioware will be that interested in a Baldur's Gate movie. Can't sign the petition since I've never played the Baldur's Gate series before. :p

I doubt a petition will make any difference in a decision like this, especially if nobody has even considered making a movie of it. There is no harm in doing the petition though.

Definitely Can't Hurt

If Hollywood was willing to make "Snakes On A Plane" based on internet interest, well, who knows indeed what could happen.

I have to admit, while I find it fun to speculate on which actors and actresses would best fit the various SoA NPCs... I'm a bit uncertain about there actually being a BG2 movie. Only because movies based on video games are not generally all that good.
Though, hey, there's always a first time for everything, maybe this one would be well made, who knows? ;)

The other thing to bear in mind is that we likely all have our individual ideas on who the main character would be, perhaps based on the kinds of PCs we like to create. I mean, I generally tend towards stealth types and magic users (ideally sorcerers). And, my characters are almost always female.

But...if we go by past movies of this type.. what are the chances we'd see a male, sword wielding "hero?"
Just something I wanted to throw out there, anyway. ;)

I always had a gut feeling that a game that open-ended will never take-off as a movie, for some reason. Sure that its not necessary to follow the game's plot and just take some elements of the game to fit into the movie but the fact that the main character is customisable will come across as an obstacle. It is a wonder why games that are linear like HALO and Tomb Raider are more suitable, to be honest. I honestly can't imagine a movie based on an open-ended title.

Just a thought, how about if they make a Baldur's Gate movie that occurred before the events in Baldur's Gate? I think that would be much easier to the developer. For example, I recall a videogame, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, that is based before the events portrayed in their movie counterparts, Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick, the movie and it did quite well. :)
