Hi friends, yesterday I started this game in multiplayer mode and instantly I became confused by many things. I went through the game tips and other helpful informations, but still need some more, if you could help me.
1. When I change class, skills connected with it will be cheaper for me? (e.g. xp cost of magic skills will be cheaper for mage then figter?) If I am fighter and then become member of mage guild, will I have cheaper prizes in both asociated skills?
2. I found spell books, but only some of it are visible in the magic slots. Does it mean, that if I acquire book I dont have skills for, it disappears, or it will become visible when I upgrade to necessary level? How do I know which requirements I have to meet to use certain spell?
3. Is the atribute Luck of any importance?
Thats all for now, but all other rookie hints are most welcome!
Thanks, Veronika from Czech rep.
Some questions in the beggining
Hi and welcome! I am still only some what new to the game and I haven't finished yet, though I am getting there. Some advise I can give you and I hope it helps and is accurate.
1) Yes according to your class specification, it will be easier for you to train in areas. I would also suggest that you carefully place your exp points as they can get very high up quick if you do not have learning bonuses.
2) Save lots! I have been very grateful for that advise as I am too tempted to do silly things like get stuck in trees, jumping off bridges, tackle monsters that kill me in one hit and general suicide missions.
3) When you choose a class specification, you gain skills you cannot obtain from some others. For example, you gain the scribe skill which helps your spells regenerate if you become a sorcerer, though if you became a fighter there wouldn't be a real need for that skill.
You can place as many skill points as you can afford into the skill.
I hope this helped. As I said still kinda a newbie myself (hope I got it all right).

First off ... I highly suggest you not start the game playing Multiplayer ... It's got more bugs, lags more often, and seems to have more questlog problems. Singleplayer is much easier, and contained. Also, it's what 90% of the people here, play, so, you may come up with questions while playing it that we can't answer.
1. Yes. FOr each class you aquire, you get learning bonuses for certain skills. To see them, what each class is, it's tier, and other useful information on classes, visit this link. You pretty much want to pick a specialization, to get the full effect from your character. You COULD go Mage and Fighter equally, but, it will cost a rather high amount to increase the skills that go with both of those classes. It's best if you decide if you want to be a caster or a melee'r, first, and then choose what class of magic you want to cast, or what type of weapons you want to be using, and etc, respectively. So that, then, you can stack your Learning Bonuses, which is -incredibly- helpful throughout the game. Essentially, you still have to enter two different Guilds, but try to choose guilds that have classes to supplement your main goal of the character you're making.
2. If you've found spellbooks, then they go into different classes of magic. You may've found some lowlevel Nether books, which, when dropped, look just like the icon for Arcane books, but it's much more likely that you've found some Arcane books (Freezing Touch, Shrieking Star, Magic Missle, Fireball). These books, if you get the same spell twice, simply increase the charges in the book. One charge = one cast. So, if you've gotten ten books, and it's only showing maybe 3 in your inventory, then check the charges, and you'll proly have 4 of one book, 3 of another, 3 of another one. They do not disappear, and your inventory doesnt unlock anything based on your stats or whatnot. However, merchants of each guild will sell you different spells and items based on how far within that merchant's particular guild you've advanced. The required minimum level to cast a spell, by the way, is just under the spell's name. It should say "Level 4" for example, under Fireball. That means you need an Arcane level of 4 to effectively cast that spell. Some spells, if you dont have enough Skill in the brand of magic to equal the spell's level, will not let you cast them at all, and it'll just use a charge. Others, will allow you to cast them, but do very very little damage, most times 1 damage, 2 if you're lucky. The higher your Magic skill, the higher the damage, AreaOfEffect, Life, duration, etc of the spell.
3. I have absolutely no idea what Luck is, does, or how it is increased, aside from that Fool Of Fortune heraldry. One would assume it gives a better chance to get high level drops from chests and enemies, but, with DungeonLords, you can never be certain what things will do.

P.S. Make absolutely sure to patch your game to the newest patch before you do ... ANYTHING. They fix a sickeningly large amount of bugs and glitches within the game, even if they do leave a slightly less sickening amount still within the game. You'll encounter ALOT of problems if you're not at the newest patch. The newest versions are v1.4 for the retail version, and v1.5 for the Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition already has v1.5 when you installed it, and you can go HERE to get the retail patches.
