NinjaLord needs sub-guilds/builds, Help Please? Version CE 1.5

Post by Planet_Guardian »

I have started a Urgoth, Thief. And I want to make a Budoka/NinjaLord.
What would be a good subclass? I need as much parry as I can get, so Fighter classes seem the most plausible(Marauder and Knight). I don't want heavy armor skills, but I'm afraid there is not much choices left. I would like the style of wearing Light Ninja Armor and maybe some Medium Samurai Shoulders (Armor+5, Strike+2)...just to get that ninja look.

So, what do I go with?

And I pick NinjaLord to boost Ninjitsu. How much damage gets added to your attacks per point in Ninjitsu? Or is it some kind of percentage like strength? Also, does Strength alone affect the damage on unarmed, ninjitsu attacks...or does dexterity play a factor. I guess it doesn't matter...cause you can't raise dexterity higher than about 85 including +strike items so as not to incur the wraith of the 'strike bug'.

Oh, and in case your worried about my fat Urgoth not climbing the ladder, I know how to work around that with that hex program...as that's what I ended up doing for my previous Urgoth.

Thanks for any comments.

Hmmm ... Well, if you're looking for a lot of Parry, and little armor, then I'm not sure what to help you with ... But, since you're going Unarmed, and Ninjitsu is a Diabolic skill, therefore costing alot of ADV, then I suggest you go Monk, they dont get armor bonuses, and have + to scout, Ninjitsu, and you can even use healing magic and all the so-useful Celestial Crystals (I looooove Crystal Of Vision, so very very useful, since I'm obsessive at times about revealing the map, and my char can't quite get to see all the mountain peaks.. =\ ), but, if you -really really- want Parry, then, I suppose Knight / Marauder would be good, tho I kind of feel Knight is a useless class, not giving any magical supplement bonuses, just reducing costs of skills, evne if, yes, they are your core skills. Marauder, to me, seems a shame to choose, since you wont be dual-wielding.. But, again, if Parry is a concern, and you dont mind spending tons of ADV on Ninjitsu, then, go for it.

Also, I've been trying to figure out the correlation between stats and skills influencing spell and melee damage, but nobody seems quite sure what is a factor toward what, so ... I really can't help with your ninjitsu damage question. Anyone who can give me a little insight into how the algorithyms work, that would be acbsolutely awesome of them.

Sorry about the posts, earlier. I didnt understand your builder fetish, and thought more towards the mindless, unnecessary killing fetish because you wanted to feel more powerful. If you have a liking for what you do, then, I guess it's okay, but I'm sick of seeing my friends who train and train and train endlessly but dont know what to do with, or actually how to play their characters. You seem to know a relatively good deal about the game; My apologies.

If you are suggesting a Monk/NinjaLord setup, it can't be done since both of those classes are of the Eastern House Guild. If you weren't, then I apologize ahead of time.

I really wanted to do that Monk/NinjaLord or a Samurai/NinjaLord...but, the stupid game doesn't seem to allow for it with those guild rules. It's a darn shame. As I almost don't find a purpose in those Ninja garbs sold in Fargrove by the Eastern Guild after you become Budoka, Samurai, Shugenja, or Imperial (2nd tier). What's the point? The only character setups that can use these ninja garbs effectively are non-fighter classes (ie:Mage-Sorcerer, Shugenja, Kenjasai... Sisterhood-Enchantress... Rogue-Hunter, RangerLord, Trickster, Cabalist, Budoka, NinjaLord ...the Adapt gets some armor bonuses and so does Paladin and Crusader...but, the rest of the Adapt 2nd and 3rd tier classes do not). And when you combine 2 different classes (ie:Rogue and ???)...more than likely you will pick that second subguild class that has armor 'learning bonuses'. As you picked Rogues as the first class, which is about 60% of the total of classes that have no 'learning bonuses' in armor, you'd find your options to picking another no 'learning bonus' in armor character very low. And the Rogues have no Heavy Armor from any of their classes...while every other Guild has at least one class with the Heavy Armor skill. So what's the point of Ninja garbs? And I don't want to make a NinjaLord/Sorcerer or a NinjaLord/Enchantress or a NinjaLord Celestial...as I'd rather be heavy into the melee/throw aspect and have some very good "Parry" 'learning bonus'. *Sigh* Is it so hard to actually design the skill setup for characters, Mr./Ms.-Programmers?

Oh well, nuff of my ranting. I just decided to go with a (Rogue/Fighter/Budoka/Knight/NinjaLord). The Mauruder really offers nothing that the Knight class cannot fufill. Plus, should I change my mind later, I think the Knight gives 'learning bonuses' for Heavy Armor while the Mauruder does not. *Whatever*

I really wish this game "especially when played single-player mode could give you armor/weapons according to your classes...instead of this limited, poor, random selection. Hopefully there will be a patch soon having added 100's of new weapons/armors/accessories.

*Oh, and the current armor and weapons and accessories need revamped and buffed up. Like Ninja clothes could stand to have something like (+4Parry and +4strike and make the requirement of having to wear them that you must at least be a Budoka or a Monk class...to make the Ninja experience worthwhile). Class specific equipment would really rock. Ok, I'm done from excessively ranting.

I totally agree with you that they need to work on better armor for certain classes, specially the magic weilding characters. There's almost nothing class specific for us other than some hats, and if you're a female you may be lucky enough to find some witch armor, which is basically just a bra. I want to know Where is the mage armor?!!! Robes, gloves, boots, and whatever else? Hopefully these will be in a patch!

Meh, I just gave up on the Urgoth NinjaLord thing. I got to level 12, used the Hexedit to get him up the ladder, it took him back to level 8 (which I suprising never noticed with my first Urgoth)...while retaining all my stats and skills. And later when I accidently chose the message to blame House Fathien for stealing the Argalia, I had no previous saves to go back so to get the "Noble Heraldry". And so I Hexedited that "noble heraldry" in...and the thing took my character from level 16 to level 8. And I just couldn't live with the guilt of having a really non-legit character. So, I said screw it. I prefer gaming companies to make good working games that are just good, so that I don't have to feel guilty about using a hexeditor (which is something I really hate doing...as it leads to hating the gaming company for its poor workmanship and losing any fun I may have invested into the game). Nobody would believe my character was legit after those 2 hexeditings anyways...heck, even I started to feel it wasn't quite right. I gained 8,000,000 illegitably with that stupid hexeditor and I didn't know how to make my level/ADV/Experience to the correct amount as the editor would not allow me to adjust those values. And I hate using an editor to start with. So, I guess I'll never find out how much Ninjitsu works. I'm just too unhappy to play the character and DL right now. Sorry that I couldn't give any info on the Ninjitsu thing as its got me too depressed to pick the game up after the editing incidents. Sorry. Maybe someone else could find out the info on Ninjitsu?

*I had gotten Knight...but, getting Bodoku 2nd tier class available just took too long as it was near Skulldoon...even though that was my next step...I just lost my nerve to keep playing. Besides I've already invested in the game by playing 6 characters up to level 25. It gets boring traveling the vast lands each time without moonbridge availability right away...and boring from killing many low exerpience pieces of crap enemies. Even Moonbeasts get boring when it takes 40 kills of moonbeasts to raise one stat by one point.

**Good game, but...too many areas not covered...and I fear that there isn't going to be a patch for it. So, screw it for now.
