Favourite Geographic Region, and why

Post by dragon wench »

I know there has been a thread about favourite towns and cities, but I don't think we've had one on regions. At least I hope not :D I tried searching around a bit, but it was hard to know what criteria to punch in.

Okay, self explanatory title here, state your favourite Morrowind (expansions included ) region(s) and explain why.

Me, I like the Grazelands and Solstheim. Probably because in RL I have a fondness for prairie and desert areas. I like the gold colours and the sense of open space.
Solstheim, well I like snow and ice, and Bloodmoon landscapes are beautifully rendered.

Meh, this is one thing I've never really perferred about morrowind. It's realistic and plausible, sure, but my favorite region has always been and will always be the desert. Morrowind or oblivion feature none whatsoever.

But again, that's just my opinion.

I like the area around Pelegiad, Ebonheart and Vivec. I love just walking around picking the plants, exploring the caves, and go swimming in the lake in the middle of the region :)

I also like the grazelands. In fact I like most areas apart from the Ashland regions - the dust storms annoy me!

Solstheim - simply beautiful, especially when its snowing.

For some particularly stunning scenary try Lok'ken (from White Wolf of Lok'ken Mountain mod) and Solstheim Castle (mod of the same name).

I agree, Lokken is beautiful! Even more stunning than Solstheim. I don't have it installed this time around, but Lokken is one of my favourite mods, just for the scenary alone.

Azura's coast. It has the shrine of azura and I like the ocean/costline setup.

I like azura's coast and thoronar's watch. I guess it's just because I live in california and enjoy the mountains next to the sea.
You can always become stronger in Morrowind, but it's never enough. PM me if you know what I'm talking about.

I can't play without it, I tried uninstalling to play the Inn of the Whispering Wood, but just found the region far too desolate - a nice quest idea, but the region became so lifeless.

I'm going to have to go with the Grazelands as well. I remember the first time I went to the Grazelands, I was a little out of body and mind :D , and I had my new headphones on with the Morrowind theme song playing. I remeber just wandering around and looking over the hills and whenever I got to the borderline of leaveing the area I would turn right back around. I wasn't quite myself at the time, but I can say that it was very enjoyable and easy on the eyes. :)

Does any one else play with the music OFF?

Not so much a region but I enjoy the alien architecture of Daedric ruins, they're really bizzare and unusual to look at, which I find cool. Still I like the areas around Vivec, it's quite impressive to look out from the cantons and see the mist in the distance.

Favourite geo location for me is Solstheim, the trader there has always got stacks of cash, handy for when i've pillaged tombs etc, but when it comes to towns and cities i like to revolve around the mages guilds, balmora been :) my top spot!!

Yes, Lokken, without a doubt (I'm sure Emma'll be pleased to have finished first in yet another poll).
In an unmodded game it used to be Solstheim but lately I've been wandering around the Bitter Coast quite a bit and I suddenly realised it's a beautiful area too. Especially when the weather is a bit foggy.

Around south balmora

As you go out the south of balmora towards that big lake is my favorite area.
The place with all the huge mushrooms and long grass and loads of heather.
i think it looks the most realistic
