Staff of Corruption (spoiler?)

Post by robot flux »

So, I found a shrine (can't remember the name) and luckily carried a black soul gem on me looted from a cave so I could do the quest. Anyways, This guy stole an orb and I was to retrieve it. I did and as a reward, the god gave me a staff of corruption with 30 charges on it. What does this staff excactly do? If I recall, corruption is not a regular spell of any kind. I tested it on a necromancer in a cave and found out that the staff created a "evil copy" of the guy but I before I got to see it I killed the necromancer so the "copy" disappeared as well...

Staff of corruption = Staff of creating evil twins?

Yep. Well, I guess technically it's a staff of creating good twins, when you shoot it at evil beings. At any rate, the opposite will seek and attack the original until one of them is destroyed or the opposite disperses. Most magic items have spell-like effects, but there are a few items (like this one) that have effects that can't be duplicated with any spell or combination of spells.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?
