Firearms Master

Post by Razzy »

This is probably a n00b question, but how can i get master training in firearms? I went to William Thorndrop, but he chopped his fingers off and cant teach me. I searched the forums and the walkthrough but i didnt see anything regarding how to get master training in firearms. Can someone help?

As long as one has a character with all the prerequisites, then it's possible to get Thorndrop to teach mastery.

Maxed firearms skill, apprentice level teaching, expert level teaching, 18(?) perception.

After talking to him about getting mastery and being turned down a halfling will approach soon after and ask for help, complete his quest and Thorndrop will offer a reward.

A possible bug with the firearms mastery quest.

I've played this game plenty of times as a gun slinger (about 4 in the past 3 years), and I’ve alwayesd been able to get firearms mastery training. My current character is a half-elf with a custom background that gives a bonus to firearms (it takes the place of “raised by snack handlers”), and I have the perquisites (to my knowledge) for the nice little halfling to appear (I even used the save game editor to raise my perception to see if that was the problem) but to no avail. I also pick-pocketed the looking glass rifle from the NPC, if that makes any difference.

Is it my custom backround? Or some thing else? Is the halfling not appearing a known bug? Should I move my saves an reinstall?

Thanks for any answers.

It's a bug sort of

I had to talk to him like 4 times and tried different replies, and then the little gnome came.
