My question is that I am having trouble settling on a party. I find myself settling on the usual ones (Jaheira, Minsc, Anomen, Imoen) but I need a tank(Minsc is usually my archer/tank). I don't like Keldorn and Korgan will leave when my rep gets high. Was thinking about ditching Anomen for Aerie but they are both whiners... Any suggestions?

New Run through
I have started my next runthrough (almost finished with my Paladin but started this one for a small break before I end the first) with a Halfling Fighter/Thief. WOW! This little dude rocks! I have backstabbed everything in the Irenicus Dungeon (aside from the golems
) and he was dealing out 70 points of damage per backstab!

Actually, believe it or not, I say that Haer'Dalis is the best tank.
There are ways to make him move aroundfreely after he uses Defensive Spin.
So, here's my justification:
Stoneskin + Mirror Image + Defensive Spin + Tenser's Transformation.
Even if you don't have Tenser's, the other three can make him an ideal tank, not to mention that he'll recieve some buffs from the priest characters. With this, he's a wall. Good luck killing him. First you must pass the mirror image. Then you have to beat his insanely high AC, which should be a toughie for most enemies, and even if they hit him, they must hit him as many times as it takes to remove stoneskin.
Now, his damage might not be as good as that of Minsc or Keldorn, but one of Aerie's buffing spells will change that... not to mention that he does maximum damage while using Offensive Spin.

“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
I'm playing a dwarven Fighter/Thief currently and have now nearly finished SoA. From the beginning I have used Mazzy, Korgan and Edwin. My PC and Korgan serve as main tanks while I use Mazzy as a sniper. I'm the type of guy that likes to run into a room and start hacking everything into chunks and if that's the kind of tank you need you can't go wrong with korgan.
Reputation is a bit of a problem with the evil folks ofcourse but it's not too hard to keep it at 18. What I did was get the silver pantaloons as ransom for -2 reputation and also hire Viconia then chunk her for another -2 rep.
After the asylum you can slayer change fot -1 rep when you need to so it's no longer a problem.
As said before Hear Dalis is good too, but he needs a bit more micro-managing and is very weak at the start so be sure to quickly get the fortitude girlde and green ioun stone for him.
As you might have noticed I use no druids or clerics at all. This is sometimes a bit harder but I can reduce party size this way as I see clerics as nearly useless. I use rings of regeneration and Gaxx as healing as well as some once per day items. That way I don't need to take any whiners along.
Concluding, I'd recommend:
PC
Korgan/Hear'Dalis
Imoen/Edwin
?

Just a suggestion - but why not take Mazzy? She is a haffer as well. Unfortunately you can't romance her - but she can be a decent enough tank with the right gear.
One of my favorite parties I played was a "little folk" party with my PC (haffer fighter/thief), Mazzy, and Jan.
