im making an rpg what should i call it?

Im currently working on a text-based rpg game. its a game where you could become anything you want, from an evil mage to a proud warrior, to a vampire rouge. Now what should i name it havent come up with anything yet, anyone?

ill post the site if i make and publish it of this thread.

i though about it again, and would something like, "dragon flame" be good?

Hmm, I would name it Dungeons and Dragons.

No offense, but those are really vague terms that can all be accomplished in the game of DND. So, gotta agree with mag, we need a bit more info.

So you are trying to make a video RPG, but starting with a text base? I haven't played either of those games, so I have no clue what they look like. To be honest, if you cant' come up with a name now, it isn't all the important. Call it Project J or whatever comes to mind for now, and change it when you have inspiration.

Hmm, in reply to the edit you put in your first post, "Desire" seems to be sort of out of place with a game of what you are thinking of. Unless I am mistaken in what you are planning out, I am assuming it is based on a character taking on quests, which involve adventure, combat, and improving themselves? "Desire" seems to be more suited to an X-rated movie or book.

You should not think up a title to begin with, untill you have the storyline for your game laied out at least in rough ideas. (Ei, the plot line). Then you can take the title from the plot line.
The title I would think would be the easiest part of all this.

I wouldn't start with classes/races/title/game rules as of yet, I would start with the world itself.

What are people like, what is the economy and government like, were there any recent wars? If so, who fought in them? What is the mainland name? Are there multiple mainlands or continents with habitants? What are the regions? Who is the great king or is it more of a senate type deal? Where and when does it take place? Is it more futuristic than DND or less technologically advanced? Is magic existant and is it a big or small part of the society? What kinds of creatures roam the plains? What kinds of creatures inhabited the area before it became the mainland if it ever did become the mainland? What organizations and religions exist in this world? Is it evil or good dominant? Or more of neutral altogether? Are the people happy or in poverty? Is there a great city? if there is, does it have a good or bad ruler/senat? How do exports work? Is there transportation? Is it reliable or do you just buy a horse? Are dragons existant and common or very mythical and/or rare? What races are treated fairly in the cities? Are orcs still treated the same as DND does or are they more respected now and another race is disdained?

Answering those questions should get you a good 5 or 6 pages of material if you summarize what you want. In depth, if you type it, you might end up with about 30 or 40 pages. And believe me, I've read a lot out of the Eberron DND campaign setting, all of those questions about the world were answered and that consisted of at least a hundred of it's own pages.

Oh, and if you do type it, please use a microsoft word or a word processor with a spell checker, that would help appeal to people.

thank you siberys, for the ideas.
and im not even sure im going to have orcs there. im thinking like maybe just these races:
vampire
humans
werewolves
trolls
imps
ogers
but i think i just might put them there.
ill try to make every race have its own bonuses and drawbacks.
and i hope to make evry race be treated equl. i mean i think ill have some wars between different races, but they will all have their allies and citys. exept maybe some races who are against everyone.

You need a realy good name if your gonna make an RPG, and i mean a realy good one that relates to the title. Dungeon siege is a great game for example and the second one hasn't even got a dungeon it it. It realy pus people of games. You should call your game something like "The Path To Glory" and you sgould have a story where you have any character like you said and you do your best to become the most glourious person in the land!!!

Well, as said before, title is the last thing he should worry about simply because of that reason, he would need something that relates to the game...

Oh, and dungeons don't have to be called dungeons, Crypts, tombs, ruins, caves, hell, sewers, and ancient temples can all be considered dungeons by todays gamers.
