Hey, i wanted to make a deathlord build with the budoku second tier class to get ninjitsu. Is this possible? I noticed that heavy armor is a requirement for deathlord, how would i go about getting access to this skill?

hi

Deathlord does require heavy armor and weapons.About your Budoka i don't think you can reach your desired third tier class. Here is what i recomend:
Warrior-Mage-Marauder-Battlemage-Deathlord.
The Battlemage gains heavy armor and heavy weapons. So sorry I think you didn't choose carefully. Now you are only able to get your third tier class Ninja Lord from what u have choosen. :D

If you're into killing 3000+ Moonbeasts (and I have done this...actually up to 6000+ Moonbeasts for 2 of my characters...I got time, you could say)...you can still get your Deathlord class for your 3rd tier. It actually doesn't even take that many Moonbeasts or killings of Minotaurs to achieve this. If you only play for about 2-3hours a week, then your going to be killing Moonbeasts for about 6 weeks (to put it in time perspective). I mean at least as the Fighter, you get Light/Medium Armor 'learning bonuses...and the Mauruder gets 'learning bonuses' for Light/Medium Armor and I think even Heavy Armor (can't remember). So, you are not really screwed at all. It will just take a little while to get Heavy Armor up to 10. The Mauruder does get Heavy Armor, right? It says it in my manual at least...or is the manual wrong? The Gamebanshee class section says the Mauruder doesn't get Heavy Armor at all. Which is right? I've seen ppl have Fighter/Rogue/Mauruder/Trickster/Deathlord builds on this forum...did they cheat with a hex editor or something? If the Mauruder gets Heavy Armor, you should have no problem getting Heavy Armor up to level 10. Just keep killing Moonbeasts for about 10-20hrs MAX. Nothing is impossible if you give it time.

I also went about making a Female Human: Adapt/Rogue/Monk/Valkyrie/Shoalin Master...and I can get my Heavy Armor up to where I can where Plate Armor (5 levels of Heavy Armor)...and that doesn't really require too many ADV points (~150,000 points required to go to level 6). At worst, it might probably cost me 3,000,000 ADV points to get level 10 Heavy Armor skill, but that doesn't take too long when fighting Moonbeasts for a couple of hours. I think at level 12, if you have the Deathlord Armor you can wear it without any restraints. Of course though, I always spend a lot of time raising Intelligence and all the other attribute stats before I raise my skills. I also wait until I get most if not all my tiers before I start raising my skills...as to alleviate most of my ADV points. I try to conserve every ADV point I get as to give my character more bang for its buck.

Hope you have the time to get Heavy Armor up to 10 as well as Heavy Shield up to 10...its worth it getting the "Inflict Wound" from the Deathlord class while using a limited non-learning-bonus Ninjitsu skill. However, going as either a Shoalin Master or a NinjaLord would have been better to reduce the costs of raising your Ninjitsu levels for more bare handed damage. But, whatever...just enjoy yourself.

hi

Hi Planet Guardian i think your manual is wrong because Marauders don't get heavy armor or heavy weapons.I had a Thief-Warrior-Marauder-Budoka-Ninja Lord and I didn't get heavy weapons or heavy armor. :D

Actually, a Zaur with Fighter/Rogue/Marauder/Trickster/Deathlord is exactly what I'm working on right now and it is possible. Heavy armor, heavy shields and heavy weapons were all available to me once I became a Marauder, even though I only seem to have a learning bonus for heavy weapons. Even though it's gonna take LOTS of points to meet the requirements, it is indeed possible to do without editing.

p.s. Oh, and I'm playing 1.4

Yeah, heavy stuff takes a ridiculous amount of ADV to get high...

Anywaaay...Ganthan's right. I was working on my Thrall Thief/Fighter/Budoka/Marauder/Ninja Lord, and you gain heavy armor and weapons, althought you only get a bonus to heavy weapons. Technically, Marauder is only supposed to get Heavy Weapons, but I guess the programmers realized they screwed up because Deathlord's prereq class doesn't give the skills required to gain it. Oh yeah, and I'm playing 1.4 also.

btw, my char beats face because of sneak/backstab/dualwielding/OBSCENE SPEED, and playing along with my bro and his Mage/???/???/Enchantress/War Witch (who tanks nicely). WHIRLWIND COMBO STRIKE FTW!!
