Soultaker missing.

Post by wise grimwald »

When Soultaker was stolen from me at Ulgoth's Beard, I was instructed to stop them before the ceremony started. In previous games this was impossible as I always arrived after the ceremony. This time however I sneaked downstairs, killed all the acolytes very easily with bow and arrow, and finally the main one using necklace of missiles. On his death, I found no trace of Soultaker on his body. When I returned to the Inn, I was still told to stop them so I didn't get the experience. Have I missed the knife or is it a bug? Anyone know?

I dont know about that old chap because when I killed this fellow, and I've only done it the once, the dagger was there plain and dandy and all went swimmingly. What I do find a touch on the interesting side, however, is that fact that for you the ritual sometimes went ahead before your chappies showed up and therefore threw a proverbial spanner in the proverbial works. When I came to do this little snippet of the quest it didnt seem to matter how late I got there, dontchaknow. I couldnt do it first time so I had to go away and power up a little, and when I came back several gamedays later all still went well.

Soultaker missing

Have just repeated the method of taking out the cult guards, this time with cloudkill. Everyone dies but there is only money no Soultaker! I am wondering if there has been a patch added to sort the problem out, as I don't have any patches added.

In addition to ensuring you have the latest patch installed, you also have to initiate dialog with the priest/priestess of the cult. Once the dialog is completed, the demon will be spawned. You will then need to kill the cult members and the demon.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a person does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses their intelligence.

That has happened to me before just go to the dwarf and tell him you have destroyed the cult and you will still get your reward.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

Soultaker missing

Thanks for the help. I have always done it before by speaking to the priestess first, but the dialogue told me to stop them before the ceremony started. So I tried it that way and it didn't work. I therefore reverted to my tried and tested method of killing the acolytes, and then speaking to the priestess.
