Anyone know of a Sorcerer spell guide?

One that recommends which are the best spells and why.

Getting a first level 3 spell - fireball is an easy choice, but there's another that gets levelx1d4+3 damage that appears to outdamage the fireball levelx1d6.

have a look at the sticky "powergaming guide", there you will find a sorc build with a spell recommendation and you also find links to 2 other guides (UPP & JUPP) where you find further informations on that issue!

A simple rule to follow is if you want to cast that spell many times, then give it to the sorcerer. A good example is the multiple Skull Trap cheese tactic.

One tip would be to select at least one attack spell of each elemental type (acid, fire, cold and electric) - if you just pick fire, then you will have lots of trouble near the end!

And if you want a real challenge, DON'T pick Fireball!

Thanks. The UPP and JUPP links are broken unfortunately.

The powerleveling guide mentions a few good spells, but lacks detailed discussion or even mention of most spells.

So, I'm still looking for a guid that discusses the different spells.

Thanks for the tip on the different types of damage.

...as I don't have uploaded them, and IWD2 is already quite old they original poster may have deleted them!

I have dowloaded them but they rest in peasce on my broken HD, if I will get them back to life some day, I will upload them!

Sorry I thought I added a spell selection to PC 4 like I did with the most other builds!

If I find some time I will add it to the guide!

But in general it also depends on your party composition, if you have a wiz as a back-up caster for your sorc, you can give the sorc much better spells then without!
