What I've been doing since I became a master enchanter.

I've been taunting high ordinators into killing me, selling their armor for top dollar, and then turning their ebony schmitars (sp?) into custom swords that do 100 points of fire, shock, frost damage etc. I then put them on display in my newly aquired velos manor in godsreach.
You can always become stronger in Morrowind, but it's never enough. PM me if you know what I'm talking about.

Candles and lanterns... My Bosmer is a walking fire hazard after visiting a smuggler's cave or similar that is full of lighting sources :D
This is even more the case since installing Lights 300 which allows you to grab previously stationary candles, while giving off a glow to match their colour. I also have Leeloo's lantern texture replacers, which are lovely

Oooh! That's awesome DW!

I never thought of it as a collection, but at my Telvani stronghold, because it's too dark, I did a skull/ candle or torch combo.

Very nice.

I steal anything that's unique. My storage vault is full of artifacts I have stolen that I don't even have the skill to use.

I have a huge problem with collecting helmets. I just cannot leave a helmet on the ground or in a corpse. As a result I have shelves and shelves of helmets. All in all it looks pretty cool. It got so bad I killed everyone in the towers of Dawn and Dusk so I could get the Deadric face of Inspiration and the Deadric face of terror. I also collect books, ash statues cool weapons anything i deem cool enough. I then spen hours setting up my house to perfection, Often with so much stuff it all gets shoved in an overflow bag and wrecking my decorations.

I have a house in balmora in which every surface is covered with limeware platters holding rubies, pearls, emeralds, and diamonds.

Just to prove how many slaves I've rescued.

(possible spoiler)

I made a point of soul-trapping every named 'Dagoth' in the game... I have them all except Dagoth Ur...

they are all on a shelf in Balmora - with their 'Sixth House Amulets' on top...

all are resting quietly... not saying much...

I used sneak and the amulet of shadows to get near enough to see if they were a random ash ghoul or ascended sleeper or were actually a named dagoth... if named... bam! they were mine in a grand soul gem! (I have the daedric dagger Soul-Drinker from the mage's quests...

also tend to collect candles and lanterns, the stronghold is so full of light I've started packing them around and lighting dark places outside and around areas I visit a lot. ;)

Now that's pretty original. You man, that got soul trapped simply for having been named Dagoth? No one else, just them? Impressive. :)

It has been ages, but I made a character once that stole everything in sight. I started off with a house to use as storage. Unfortunately, my idea of stealing everything led to my having to branch out. I stole all of the miscellaneous props you can think of. The pillows, the silverware, the plates, baskets, etc. I stole the alchemy ingredients. I robbed shops blind. In fact, I used to rob a shop, go to the shop next door, sell everything I had found. Do a round of that through all of the shops in town, and then go back and steal everything I could from every shop in town again.

I decided it was too fun to just steal and sell. So, I decided to clear out Balmora and use it as a giant warehouse town. I killed everyone in sight, and picked the end of town where you meet your first contact with the Blades. I used all of the houses there as storage. One for housewares, one for clothes, another for armor, another for weapons, another for magic items, another for alchemical items, etc.

The only people to survive were those in the mages guild. I used that as a quick transport to other towns which I then looted. First, I took everything that wasn't nailed down and could get away with without getting caught. I then branched out to the merchants. Then to taking whatever I could off of the townspeople. Then the guards, etc.

I eventually got to the point that I decided if I was going to go through all of that trouble, I'd have to make a shrine type thing for the "good stuff". So, I marched on the city of Vivec. I went through that city, and took down Vivec. Trapped his soul in a nice soul gem and stuck the soul gem where he was first found meditating. I then picked through everything in the city and other towns and made a fancy display in his nice home of the choicest goods. It was a most definite improvement over his style of decorating. The room was shiny and had a multi-colored glow when I was done. :D
"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"

I trapped a lot of Ascended Sleepers (for enchanting purposes) and then I realized that some of them were 'named' - (and actually not worth enough to make a 'continuous effect' item) so I decided that these 'boss' bad guys would all be mine... I had to go back to earlier saves some times when I realized I killed a 'Dagoth whoever' without trapping his soul... but I think I am done...

now... on to Bloodmoon!!!

-btw I have Vivec on a seperate shelf.... he doesn't complain...

I play two characters, one is honest and unmodified by the console, the other is a sticky fingered thief that can take down 5 Ordinators in one blow.

With my thief, A'mora Nesa-Sil, I honestly think I have every single book in the game. And I've read all of them too... I have the Ravenloft mod, so I have a large house with a LARGE library. I also steal food- Necessities of Morrowind gave me the temptation, of course.

One question though- and I feel stupid asking this- is there a mod out, or even a way in the game to stand books up/rotate them? because this whole "stacking them unorganized on a shelf" thing is really bugging me.

Yes, there is...
Just search here with the words "Book Rotate" and you should be able to find it...

It works with all the books from OC, Tribunal and Bloodmoon, but doesn't work with mods if it hasn't stated otherwise...

I am proud to say that, with my new character, I have manage to build a shack, entirely out of books, on top of one of those giant mushrooms.
