Game speed problem

I purchased IWD a couple years ago and installed it on a Win 98 system and had no problems. I was did not finish the game and wanted to start on it again, but when I installed it on my newer WinXP system it plays to fast. I tried running it in Win95 & Win98 compatibility mode, but it slows it down and makes the gameplay choppy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Problem Solved

Ok, I figured out what happened. I had turned the "AI updates per second" up to 60 which caused the fast gameplay. Once I turned it back to 30 everything went back to normal.
