I've just dropped my cell phone into the washing machine!! I have removed the battery and dried it all, as best I can. There is still water behind the screen, though.
I have read online that you can either "bake" the phone in the oven at 125 degrees F or put it in the fridge to dehumidify it. Has anyone here actually tried anything like this??????
I dunno much at all about tech type stuff. However, as far as I know cold weather should not hurt your electronics, barring extreme cold which may be low enough to push the parts inside it past freezing and possibly cracking them if there is water in there. Heat on the other hand, almost every electronic I own has a warning about extreme heat. Whether or not either of those will work to fix the problem, I have no clue. Yet, given the two choices, I would say the fridge would be a safer bet.
Then again, you dropped it into the washing machine. Chances are it was on when you dropped it? I am assuming something is fried within there and it will need to be tossed.

If your phone was powered on when it was dropped into the water then you are screwed.
If the phone was off, then leave your phone laid out on a towel over night to let it dry out.
You may still be screwed when you try to power it up but it is worth a shot once everything has a chance to dry out.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a person does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses their intelligence.
You should leave it for 24 hours before powering up and I know what I did - I used a fan - the one for hair - to dry it off as best as possible then I left it be for the day. It worked - can't guarantee anything though.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.
Two of my mobile phones survived a bath although they were powered. One of them was actually soaking for more than an hour in a bath before I rescued it.
My plan of action: Pick everything apart that can be taken apart, of course do not turn the mobile on until it's completely dry.
Dry with hairdresser for as long as you have the patience to do it. It took several days before the display of my bathing phone worked ok, but it did finally. (I neither baked it nor froze it since I was travelling, so I cannot comment on that but I don't think it's good to put it in the fridge, plastic parts often get fragile if they are deep frozen)

Update! I took my phone apart and put it in a warm oven for about 2 hours, then I blowdried it for maybe 5 minutes, then I put it on the air conditioning vent over night. This morning it powered up and I was able to make a call BUT then it turned itself off. I think I rushed it a little by turning it on so soon! Its back in the oven, now, so we'll see what happens!!
