What's KOTOR2's biggest improvement?
What's KOTOR2's biggest improvement?
For those people who play both KOTOR and KOTOR2, what is your favourite change to the game itself which was made for KOTOR2. I'm not talking about the plot here, but changes to the way things work.
I voted for the removal of the level cap but actually, the level cap is still there, but it was increased to level 50, if I recall correctly.
I was going to choose the new powers/feats but if the level cap of 20 is present in KOTOR 2, it would be rendered useless, seeing that the level cap might prevent you from learning some of the new powers/feats if you allocate your experience points the wrong way. With the increased level cap, you can make you character more powerful and sturdy. Also, the increased feats/powers plus the increased level cap really helps in making a more stronger and satisfying character.

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
Yes. There is a way to get a higher level. As what someone mentioned a long time ago at a certain thread, (Spoilers, please highlight)Alcina wrote:But it might as well not be; I don't think it's possible to get higher than level 29 without using an exploit.
Spoiler
the infamous Hsissis glitch back at the hidden tomb in the Shyrack caves in Korriban is a great way to level up till you reach the level cap.

Something else Alcina has forgotten
I think the most significant upgrade was the overall story. Yes, it does have some plot-holes due to cutting of content, but overall the story was much more deep and complex requiering you to think about events, instead of having them handed to you as in the more run-of-the-mill KOTOR1.
@Daianara:
The Battle Meditation you can gain via level up is not the same magnitude which Bastilla uses in KOTOR1 which can influence large space battles whereas yours only influence on a smaller scale.

I agree the story was great, and Kreia was a big surprise. I didn't think about it , but she was really obvious. I guess I was surprised because I didn't pay attention to the warnings. Influence was probably the greatest. I like that a lot.
Here is a wise saying from Luke Skywalker, "NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!" And that was a word from Luke. Have a nice day!
@Xandax Yes, but you have to admit it was a big tease not to get the full power, just a tiny portion of it.
As for the story, yes it was great, the only complaint about the game being that it happened mainly indoors and there's just so many military base "insides" one can take. Does anyone remeber how great the sunset (I think it was sunset) looked when you got out of the Jedi Enclave in KotOR 1?

Agreed. Felt like the power was tacked on to the game at times. Never really fond of that power anyway.Daianara wrote:Yes, but you have to admit it was a big tease not to get the full power, just a tiny portion of it.
Agreed. That scene is one of the most beautiful scene I've ever seen. Even though it's been 2 years since the game was released, it still is a sight to behold.Daianara wrote: Does anyone remeber how great the sunset (I think it was sunset) looked when you got out of the Jedi Enclave in KotOR 1?

Indeed. Or you could lay and recover mines for a few hours. But, as I originally said, I don't think you can get higher than 30 without using an exploitDesR85 wrote:Yes. In addition to everything previously said, I love how every character (well, pretty much) can equip implants -- so convenient when you want to boost stats or skills.
I guess I'm in the minority here, but even though I loved the complexities of Kreia's character, I thought the story had a LOT of problems, other than the obvious plot holes left by the rushed release.
