I've completed the game as a Venture for the LaCroix ending and as a Toreador for the Independent ending. Now I'd like to play through the game for a third time, but would like to get some feedback from you first.
I was planning on playing as a Tremere now, and go for the Camarilla ending. I fear that the Tremere-gameplay might resemble the Toreador and Ventrue gameplay too much, though, as all three would tend to be relatively lawful, eloquent, intelligent and Masquerade-upholding kindred.
Does playing as a Tremere set off many unique events, other than the initial talk with Maximilian, the special haven and the completion of the gargoyle quest? I'm a sucker for the clan-specific dialogue, and found playing as a Venture and Toreador rather bland in that regard.
Could you offer any insight on your experiences with clan Tremere, Gangrel, Brujah and Nosferatu? Perhaps it would be better to go for an anarch ending this time around, with one of those three clans.
The Nosferatu are bound to give me a unique experience, though I have a feeling I might be missing out on much dialogue not to mention all the unique persuasion and seduction options?
So in short; should I go with Tremere, Brujah, Gangrel or Nosferatu for a unique gaming experience, having already played as Venture and Toreador?
PS: I played a Malkavian until Chinatown -- while it was very entertaining I'd like to go with something else.
To start this off I'll offer some insight on playing as a Toreador...
I found that playing as a Toreador was very much like playing as a Ventrue. As far as I can remember, there was some clan-specific dialogue with the Baron of Hollywood, Gary of the Nosferatu, Bertram Tung, Ashe and Velvet Valour. There were no Toreador-specific quests or havens. You recieve the Fae Charm for free from the Baron after completing his quests and get to give people a vain comment once in a while. You can also get hookers to feed upon free of charge.

If you'd like to play Tremere and mix up the dialogue a bit, go with Intimidation as your social skill rather than persuasion or seduction. A Tremere can start the game with Intimidation 5, which will get some unique and profitable dialogue options in Santa Monica alone, and can save you time and money in later maps as well. In the long run, Persuasion is still the overall best social skill, but I find Intimidation to be much more fun.
Almost every dialogue in the game will be slightly different for Nosferatu than other clans. Not so much as Malkavians, but it's still there. The NPC's are clearly made uncomfortable by your hideous appearance and uniqute odor. One of the most interesting dialogues is VV's - especially if you choose to take offense at her false pity.
Oh yes, and you will never, ever have to say a single word to Chunk. That alone makes the Nosferatu well worth playing in my opinion. I absolutely hate having to ask that fat idiot for permission to use the elevator in LaCroix's tower. The Nosferatu have their own for private access.
Ah, the Nosferatu. My favorite clan. My true clan. They do indeed have a unique experience in this game. Don't worry so much about the lack of social interaction. Your horrific visage ensures that any interactions you have with the Kine will be. . .interesting. I personally find it quite amusing to watch them flee in terror at my approach - when I allow them to see me at all. When dealing with the Kindred, the only social option denied you is seduction. You can be as intimdating or persuasive as any other clan. I lean a little more toward intimidation, myself. It's more befitting a character who is loathed by everyone and therefore hates everyone else in turn.Could you offer any insight on your experiences with clan Tremere, Gangrel, Brujah and Nosferatu?

Yeah, I'm with Shana on this. The number of effective discipline combinations for defense and offense are awesome. You can get totally stupid in a brawl with multiple enemies. At higher levels with a ranged weapon equipped you can launch 2 fatal, and 4 damaging attacks in rapid succession as well as having about 5 defensive maneuvers held in reserve should you require them. It can make battles that are very difficult for other clans almost laughably easy once you get it all figured out.shana wrote:Welcome, Schattenjager!! Are you, by any chance, a Gabriel Knight Fan??
Tremere is my favorite clan to play because of the combination of Thaumaturgy and Dominate disciplines. It makes fights a lot my interesting because you have so many choices!![]()
As for their alignment, they're secretive, isolationist, and they stole their immortality through diablerie. I'd say approximately Lawful Evil if you're using that system, or perhaps Lawful Neutral would be better.

If it's unique dialogue you're after, you get the most with Malkavians, then Nosferatu, though in the latter case it's often a lack of dialogue that sets them apart.
If you're more interested in unique gameplay, then go with Tremere first, then Nosferatu. The Thaumaturgy Discipline really sets the Tremere apart from the other clans, and Nosferatu have to take a different approach to many quests, as social interaction with mortals is often denied them.
If you're really interested in the Tremere clan, I found a very interesting article about them: Tremere: A View from Without
I especially liked the part about what happened to the ones who tried to go Antitribu.
