Okay. Thanks. :) Just need to clear things up.

I know I mentioned Divine Divinity before ... but the music is just *so* excellent, and pervades every corner of the game, that I just had to mention it again ...

I loved the Icewind Dale soundtrack.

KotOR was great too.

Jeremy Soule's got to be one of the best artists for games.

Yet noone mentions the mighty Ultima. Some truly amazing tunes have been composed for it in its time. "Stones" by David 'Iolo' Watson has to be one of the most well-known game compositions in western gaming.

I really enjoyed the music from Planescape Torment, Morrowind and Both Icewind Dales, as well as the whole Baldur's Gate Saga.

I really liked the accoustic guitar in the original Diablo. Somehow they got an eerie melody out of the guitar. Very different for a video game and thought they did a great job.
NWN and Oblivion are 2 of my other favorites.

I still hum the music from Dungeons and Dragons, Warriors of the Eternal Sun for Sega genesis, the song that plays when you head south from the castle.

OverClocked ReMix - Unofficial Game Music Arrangement Community has great remixes and remakes of videogame music from everything atari to present day.
Are you not entertained!?

Morrowind theme is the best theme ever made.

Oblivion theme was OK too, but it wasn't such a masterpiece.. it was more like a soundtrack. :p

Oh yea, and Diablo theme thingie, with the acoustic guitar is pretty nice too. Suits the game perfectly.

In terms of music, I'd have to go with the soundtrack to IWD1. It does an excellent job of setting atmosphere or emphasizing the mood and tempo of a battle. My favourite score is the music played in the Deep Gnome Village of the Lower Dorn... very appropriately sad and haunting. The background music for Kuldahar is extremely well done too.
Like Crenshinibon, I also really enjoyed the music to PS:T... incredibly moving.

To you perhaps, but a definitive statement like that is a real stretch. Remember, these things tend to be pretty subjective. Personally, I wasn't that impressed by Morrowind's music, I found it a little flat, though that is my general impression of a vanilla Morrowind. So, don't forget, one's person's view will vary dramatically from that of another.

Gothic 3 music is amazing. Sometimes I would stop playing and just listen, listen... Never happened to me before.

I thing that fallout 2 the sound is coo as well as the song of louis armstrong the retro and the country suits post-future games. For medieval RPGs I think the most apropriate is power metal cuz it I think there is a bond betwene them or maybe because I like power metal.

I agree. Some of the music in Gothic 3 is very good up till the point that I stopped to listen to it. This ever happened to me when I play other games like Final Fantasy VII, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman: Blood Money to name a few. ;)

As I've read someone else mention, that the morrowind music is good. I agree, that's the best game music I've ever heard. But I don't tend to listen to music that much, so I could easly missed some music that was way better. On secound place I say Arcanum and Neverwinter Nights, they're both grand.
