Possible spoilers!!!
Can someone tell me which Dreadric/Shrine quest you cannot complete if you kill umbra and take her sword before getting the Clavicus Shrine quest. I would like to complete all the Dreadric/Shrine quest with the exception of the Clavicus/ Umbra one for obvious reasons. Also I don't seem to be able to kill her when I'm standing on the pillar and shoot the living lights out of her. Strange
Which Dreadic/Shrine quests can you not complete if you kill Umbra before Clavicus

first, i think i already posted in one of your other but just go get the apeothis staff at rindeirs staff nad it will kill her in about 3 shots, depends on difficulty
second, sorry you cant do all of them because, when you complete all of the shrines some one comes up to you to tell you that theres another shrine and the deadric lord wants your service or something like that, but yo can only do it if you complete all the rest of the shrines.

To answer your initial question Desperado, defeating Umbra early on in the game does not prevent you from completing any other Daedric Quests later on. To clarify that statement, Clavicus Vile requests that you retrieve Umbra's Sword for him during his particular Deadric Quest. When you approach the shrine he will give you the quest, immediately after receiving the quest, the quest log will pop up an update stating that you found Umbra's Sword and you should take it back to Clavicus Vile.
You do not however need to give him the sword upon gathering it at that time or if acquired previously. The storyline associated with finding the location of the sword is of course skipped (since you already have it) but you will still be able to complete the quest.
What happens however is that the 0 weight sword that you have been carrying for the entire game gains about 40 pounds after telling Clavicus that you are not going to give him the sword. You can either not complete the quest to save the encumberance, but I would advise against this as, you need to complete all of the prior Daedric Quests to be approached by one of Hermaeus Mora's followers for the final Deadric Quest. Personally I thought that Ogma Inifium (the reward for the final quest) was worth more to me than a weightless sword. Granted I still kept the sword, it was just heavier now as a result.

I guess my game was broken then...
RavenBlackthorn stated that you can kill Umbra early and the quest won't be broken. However, it happened to me: I killed her. Her soul departed. I was bewildered by the strange event. I figured out that I'd killed Umbra. I looked for the sword and it was nowhere to be found, nor was it in my inventory. I screwed up and kept playing without reloading and skipping the event.
Lesson learned.
Anyhow, as previously stated, you won't be able to complete ALL of the quests because you must complete all the minor quests to get the grand-daddy quest offered to you.

Interesting point Gobatcha, I actually had to kill Umbra twice. The first time I killed her, she dropped her sword and it went flying somewhere, probably fell into a crack in the architecture or something. (Might have been as a result of me slingin' fireballs too, which tend to send objects flying)
At any rate, I had to reload and kill her again, this time, I was able to find the sword that she had dropped. If you happened upon her location and inadvertantly killed her and lost the sword in the process, I imagine this would cause some issues later on in the game. (as you have to have the sword to complete the quest. Whether you give it to Clavicus or not is irrelivant, you have to at least have it in your possesion to move on to the final Daedric Quest)
