Need some (very) minor modding help

Post by Klorox »

On a fresh full install of BGII w/ ToB, my icon for Composite Long Bows is screwed up.

They look like regular Longbows, and I don't know how to fix this.

All I've installed (after the game, in this order) is the Patch, G3 Fixpack Beta, and G3 Tweaks.

I know it's something small, but this is driving me mad. I can't even bring myself to finish Irenicus' Dungeon!

Nevermind. Turns out it's part of a G3 pack that switches the two icons. No biggie now that I know.

It is most like the G3 Tweaks as I believe that it offers the ability to change several of the graphics (e.g. spell animations, equipment icons, etc.).

If you did select to install the new equipment icons or any of the additional graphics you might want to re-run the setup and select to remove those graphics and see if that doesn't fix the problem.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a person does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses their intelligence.

In a similar vein, I have installed BGII, no mods, and have found a similar problem with many of the icons. Kiel's buckler looks exactly like a small shield for example, but it is not just this item, but several of them

BG2 changed a lot of the graphics you were used to seeing in BG1, including NPC portraits, paperdolls and avatars, and items. This isn't a "problem" per se; it's supposed to be an improvement. There might be a mod out there that restores some of the BG1 graphics, but I suspect that some of them can't be changed due to issues with resolution, etc.
