Rare book locations

Post by triline beta »

I am making a rare book library for my house in balmora, and wondered if the other members of this forum had any insight as to where rare books might be. Some locations are random, but I have found books to be pretty consistant. If you know the location of a rare book (value 150 or more) please post it here. Thanks.

Master Aryon at Tel Vos has a couple, Pella I&II.
Sorkvold's Tower at Dagon Fell.
A Cavern near Gnisiss, cant remember the name.
Most Telvanni have a good Book lying around. :)

Hope that helps.

one of my favorite morrowind books, the surefeit of thieves, is downstairs in hla oad, i dont remember the exact name of the place but its the place where you go to get the dwemer artifacts and you get a quest to escort a slave to balmora. theres 2 books, chimarvamidium and breathing water, in sirilonwe's chest in the vivec mages guild. on a mages guild quest, though, you'll have to put chimarvamidium back in the chest. you can always take it back. withershins is in the ald'ruhn mages guild. of course, jobasha has a lot of them. the two libraries in vivec have plenty. usually, daedric ruins will have a book or two. on a semi-related note, i remember seeing something here on the boards about a mod that makes books actually stand up in bookshelves. im not sure how it works, since im on xbox, but it sounds good. the imperial library(website) has the location of most books, i think. it mightv been the uesp. wikipedia might have something too. wikipedia has info on almost everything. at the hut by the sanctus shrine theres a book worth 10k. thats a good one to get, although you get expelled from the temple if your caught. and you get a bounty of 10k for it. so... make sure you arent caught. theres also some books in dwemer ruins that are worth 1k. good luck with your collecting!

the ... gardens in nchuleftingth
the egg of time, i believe in Mzuleft, otherwise in Nchardums
Divine metaphisics in the gnissis egg mine, all the way down where the found dwemer ruins (also features in a mage guild quest

these three are unique

there are also some unique books describing the origins of powerfull artefacts. Fyr has one i believe, there is at least one more. I know one books speaks about the fight fest in the name of one of the greater daedra, the other how a mere mortal defeated a powerfull daedra with the use of a special armor, but how his birth vilage got wiped away. Anyone know the titles?
