Blood and Guts
We play violent games. How many of us use a gore filter or whatever it is called?

I do not use a "gorefilter" or stuff like that and play games on "maximum" settings when presented with the option, but I don't want "blood" and "guts" simply for the sake of gore.
Just like I can't be bothered watching splatter movies and such.
If it serves the story/game to have gore in it (for instance when you kill stuff in games) or when it is done humerous such as in Fallout 1+2, then by all means have gore in it, however if the game is made around gore (aka splatter movies) then I choose not to play it for such things doesn't interest me at all.

Usually I leave the settings on default, I don't like having no gore but too much isn't a good thing either. The gore also depends on the design of the game, whether the gore is done for comedic effect or shock value.
I'm not too fond of gore unless it's handled in a way that can't be believed.

, it has yet to return
In my opinion, it depends on the nature of the game. If it's a war-themed game like Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 for example, I would not be surprised if it featured blood and gore in it (including profanity as well). A horror-based game like the Resident Evil series is also a prime candidate for blood and gore. No surprise here.
As what Xandax mentioned, I also do not play games just for the sake of seeing gore and blood spatters, unless if that is the nature, the theme and the purpose of the game. I can tolerate a certain amount of gore but up till a certain point. If there is a filter in a game, I would switch off profanity as I sometimes cringe whenever I hear a character swearing to his/her heart's content but I'm straying off-topic here. Let the discussion continue.
P.S. I think 'Blood and Gore' is more suitable than 'Blood and Guts', in my opinion.

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

It cracks me up when a game offers to make blood green to protect my sensibility.
