Free Money in Arindale

Post by dcinroc »

I was running an experimental character to see if I could finish the Guild/Class Quests fresh out of Fargrove before embarking on the Main QUests ( I can, but its a pain), when I noticed that the Celestial Temple dude in Arindale was being quite generous with his prices.

I could turn a 20-30% profit just by buying and selling back.

I had a 27 Influence, Bargain 4, and The Merchant Heraldry.

I got carried away and within a few minutes I had millions of gold and a few hundred charges of Divine Intervention!

Another curiosity, this character currently has Honor 34 and Influence 32. The few other characters I have made always had an Influence rating = to 1/2 their Honor. Why is this one different? Is it The Merchant Heraldry or something specific to the class combo (Mage/Adept, Sorc/Pal)?

The Merchant Heraldry would be the factor to why your Influence is probably so high. (17_Base_Influence + 15_Bargain_Herald = 32_Total_Influence)

Who picks the Merchant Heraldry...seriously...who really picks it? Once you get Honor to about 30-34, Bargain to level 4...everything breaks even on the money market. Why bother even having shops? It's more like Salvation Army giving away things to your character for free...and on top of that, they pay you. Makes my left hand's ring finger rather mad for having to pick up (left-Shift button), 1000's of +10 gold piece piles left after defeating enemies. :(

In my last mission in Tof Soul, I was looking for best weapons (winter no datchi) with no luck. I gave up!.
But I found good method by equip myself with lots of blast magic and summon Deathlord. The money?
I bought lots of dried homolo….. in fargrove then sold it in arindale. Finally I ended up with 3 mio gold. Then I bought 200 for each ice, fire and nova blast, 100 summons deathlords, 100 of other magic spells, rune, cellestial.
Yap, the money making method really works.

There is an obvious bug/design flaw in the game.

Once you get your bargaining skill high enough then you can repetively buy stuff from npc and then sell it too them for mor than you paid.

Downside - gets really boring and every time you sell stuff back it goes in the npc's "sell" inventory and that can fill up quick. The more expensive the stuff you buy the more you make per transaction. E.G., buying ten of the 5K runes and then selling them back gives decent return. However, if you can use then then you obviously have enough money to not waste your time on it. About the only way you can use the money is to buy runes and rune magic seem to be useless.

I found (in my case) the price of dried homoncolus is the highest, so it is quicker to deal with selling/buying option, besides I get more money.
During my quest in T of S, Shadow Ruins, T Naga, and now in Irinthabyl maze, I found the weapons (no dachi winter and kama of the sun) damage is not as powerfull as blast nova!!! I mean 20 blast nova. I never worried running out of spells, I have 600 of it, 350 ice and fire nova resp. To kill 4 trees, I have to use -/+ 46 strikes, and not to mention the other creatures around you (esp the poison one). I use blast nova 37 times and they all dead.
Sometimes I only use 5 blast nova and combi with my weapons (to make thing interesting).
