Thinking about getting a new system and just using some of the stuff on this old one to place into the new one. This won't happen for quite a while, so there's just a few things I need to know from anybody -good- with computers.
First part is for processors-
Lets say I have a 150 dollar budget on a processor, and I need one that is better than mine.
Mine currently is an 3000 AMD Athlon Processor at 2.2 GhZ. What I'm wanting is something a bit faster than that, for less than 150 bucks. It doesn't matter to me if it's Intel or AMD, I personally don't care. All I need is a name to look for when choosing my barebones system. I don't know the differences between names like Intel Centrino and Intel Celeron, or Intel Core Duo.
Second Part is for websites-
I need any and all websites that will let you CUSTOMIZE a Barebones PC. If it is possible, I would like a site to where I can customize my own PC to suit me, rather than selecting from individual barebones that have already been assembled.
So any of those are appreciated.
Third part, Video cards-
Nvidia and ATI have obviously been rivals for sometime, but usually they come out to about the same quality really, depending on the card itself. What I need here is an equation of the two types of cards. What ATI card is the equivelant of Some Nvidia card.
Example-
Nvidia FX 5500 is close to the power of an ATI Radeon 9200 (That's a wild guess btw).
EDIT** Preferrably, Nvidia 6200 equivelant ATI and above.
Reason being, if there is an ATI card that has the exact power of an Nvidia card, yet it's cheaper, I want the ATI. I have no personal preferences on ATI or Nvidia, as long as it runs the games I have and will have.
If anybody would be willing to inform me of that, that would be great. I'll be searching around the web for this on my own as well, as I won't be buying it until late february, but I'd like to get an idea of prices now and how much of a budget I'll be able to have and all.

Sorry I can't answer the first question as I'm not from the US and I have never purchased anything from there.
However, I can refer you to hardware review sites like Tom's Hardware or AnandTech. Look for articles of hardware reviews as they have the listed prices and vendors in those articles.
Another alternative might be the X1300Pro and the XT version but I'm not sure as to their performance.
I'm sorry I can't be of much help here as I'm not very familiar with online retailers.Siberys wrote: Second Part is for websites-

I highly recommend the Geforce 7 series card, particularly the Geforce 7300GT of any brand. This card is the best of the budget graphics card criteria and it even manages to outperform most of the budget cards currently out there, including my Geforce 6200.Siberys wrote: Third part, Video cards-

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Thanks for the links, but as for the video card, I already know what I'm going to buy if I can afford it, but I need equivelancies to see if there's another one that's even cheaper, so I can afford other stuff. Sorry, but I do not need a recommendation on a card.
