requiem used?

Post by beornica »

I realize this question may very well not get answered, I've hunted everywhere for an answer already and cannot for the life of me find Fable's music credits.
Did they use Mozarts's Lacrimosa Requiem in Fable, or is it just a similarity? If they DID use it, it would have been a twist, but it seems to me it was used in certain parts of the game... darker, creepier parts...
I'm just curious. I heard the Lacrimosa the other day and suddenly realized THAT'S why Fable's music sounded so familiar...
you know what they say about all work and no play...

Hmm, not sure. You are referring to Fable's intro theme or the rest of the music? Danny Elfman conducted the main theme. The rest are done by Russel Shaw. Never heard of that song before so I can't really tell. Sorry.

They could have probably got an inspiration from that musical piece, though I'm not very sure.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

If you know a location where I can hear it, I can probably tell you what music it is.

I have it downloaded from Limewire, but for you windows people, I found this... hope it works for you. It's the Lacrimosa from the list at the bottom.

Um, no, I'm very familiar with Mozart's Requiem. I meant, do you have a site where I could listen to the piece in Fable you refer to? Because I haven't got it installed anymore, and don't recall the music.

Too bad. If it's classical and used in a game, without being too immodest, I can almost always identify it.

I know, same here... though I didn't catch that one until just recently, and I'm not even really sure. I would reinstall the game just to hear it if I were you. I'm particularly intrigued by the claim that all the music in fable is original, when.... well, lets say it sounds veeeeery similar if not bang-on.
