Magic Resistant, bugged?

Post by Strauss »

Hi there.

I'm currently in the fight against "The Ravager" and something wierd is accuring. When i Cast "Lower Resistance" on him he just ignores the effect, I thought at first that this was because he had an Spell Protection Spell on him, but after using Spell Strike on him and this was still occuring I'm wondering if it's an bug. I find it annoying since I can't lower he's resistance and I can't either get any spell landed on him since he has such an high magic resistance.

I quess it could be that the developers didn't want him to be hurted by magic, but allowing an character to at the same time cast magic spells, be immune to lower resistance spell and having and extremly high Magic Resistance seems a bit... well, it is annoying to say atleast.

Well, if it is intended I suppose I have to approach the fight in an different manner.

Oh, and about the search function (it seems to get mentioned in each new thread being created so hey, why not answer it now), I've searched about it but I haven't found anything of intrest, mostly about how an KOTOR general/admiral (some such) had an ship called the ravager and also it bring up how you should counter the blades with your own blades (Mork. swords).

I think he's immune to level 5 and lower spells, you'll have to use one of the pierce spells that remove protections and lower resistance at the same time.

It's intresting how you can spend up to 3-4 hours just trying to work around an simple strategy, use all other and don't succed, get frustrated and stop playing.

Then you submit your problem so other people can see it and *BAAM* you get an simple logic answer that allows you to turn that 15 minute fight into an 1 minute one.

Thank you Deadalready for the answer, you have allowed me to keep the epic journey going.

In future

it may be worthwhile using shadowkeeper to investigate opponents from saved games - I can't remember exactly what info you can get, but looking through the stats can help solve some mysteries about why certain things don't work.
