into the Oblivion gates

Post by Asher »

Ok I have been entering oblivion gates and trying to close them. i am doing pretty good with them so far but the one thing that truely masses me up are these defense towers. well thats what I call them. they are about twice as tall as my char and have blade looking things and what almost looks like an insect eye on them at the top. when I get sloser to them the top spins and shoots fire balls at me that hurt. I have tried shooting with arrows but that had no effect so I tried magic and that had no effect. is there a way to kill them? I have run into somethiong similar in the alyid Ruins but it is a black crystal and it turns orange when i get closer and shoots at me. Can i kill either of these? if so how? If not can I avoid them? remain undetected?
I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other gods you will understand why I dismiss yours.

They are sensitive to your movement - the black gemlike things in dungeons AND the little 'defence towers' inside Oblivion gates.

You can't destroy, damage, or turn any of them off. You just have to run until you are out of range...

...and it's a good thing to wear items that are enchanted with 'Absorb Magica', or to cast a spell of 'Reflect Magica' on yourself.

Potions of Absorb or Reflect Magica will do the same, also potions of Shielding are helpful.

correct me if i'm wrong but a good invisibility spell would be useful.
Why am I fighting to live, if I'm just living to fight? Why am I trying to see, when there aint nothing in sight? Why am I trying to give, when no one gives me a try? Why am I dying to live, if I'm just living to die?

I think they are sensitive to your movement.

Both Invisibility and 130% Chameleon make no difference at all. Been there, tried that, and yes, I HAVE the T-shirt!
